I sent the pistol to Springfield Armory. It was an extractor problem and also an issue with the feed ramp. In any case, they fixed it at no charge and it's functioning better than when purchased.
I have to laud Springfield's customer service. It is not only the best customer...
I have an issue with my Springfield 9mm Range Officer that I have not been able to see a solution to, or even a mention of anywhere on the web or youtube, etc.
What happened is this: I had a fired case stuck in the chamber (it had happened once before.) The extractor hooked onto it and...
Sorry not on the site much anymore, but in answer to your question, the TISAS was more reliable and just as accurate, although the sights on the RIA are better.
For what it is worth I owned a TISAS GI 1911 and subsequently bought an RIA tactical 1911 with associated bells and whistles. The TISAS was better pistol and cheaper.
Very cool. Another explanation, since the Egyptians were not only behind other cultures in iron technology (as the article points out) but even bronze technology and knowledge of the wheel (they got both only after being conquered by chariot riding bronze wielding invaders a few hundred years...
I'm new to reloading too, and would defer to any of the more experienced commentators.
That said, for what it is worth, in loading 38 special I also use the tabletop test to see if the primer is flush, but once I did miss one. Because I try to be very careful about my reloads at the range...
I'm reloading 45 acp for the first time. Using Titegroup and 230 grn Berry's roundnose plated bullet. Hodgon's data (and Lee's too) gives a COL of 1.200.
I seated a test bullet (in an unprimed and uncharged case) at 1.200 and the bullet seemed to be sitting quite deeply to visual...
I went to the range this afternoon, having read this post, but not with a lot of time. Took my AR which I was mainly interested in shooting that but just for the hell of it grabbed my XD 45 and 50 rounds and decided to see what happened shooting with both eyes open.
I shot at a 50 ft NRA...
Yeah I hear you, but just not worth the hassle that interaction involves, or the marital capital. I would just recommend anybody deciding to to things this way with this concern drop an extra $20 on the Lee hand-primer. It's much quicker, easier and no worries. Though if you end up later...
My fear of the primer going off with the Lee Loader is not that I'll be injured but that it will scare the wife and that will be the end of my men's crochet. My reloading room is not in the basement but in an upstairs study, so she is constantly around. Other than that though, I agree it is a...
Like a lot of people on this forum I was interested in handloading for some time but had no experience with it and nobody to assist me. Beyond that were all the considerations of cost, safety, time, etc. Then I read a great article in American Handgunner by Roy Huntington describing in detail...
I got denied, had a pretty good case, and still fear that the situation that justified a permit might still end up doing me harm without a means of defense. All that said, I would have nothing close to a case should that happen--in fact it would be thrown out as completely frivolous.
To...
Another thing, all the language is conditional, not mandatory. The Secretary "may" transfer, the term used both in reference to the primary program and the confusing pilot program. The Sec Army works directly for the President, and as Obama likes to say, he has a phone--no phony executive...
