Went yesterday with my nephew. Thought it was a decent show, lots of reloading supplies at fair prices, which is what I went for.
One vendor was a little on the high side, the other 3 that I saw had powder/primers/bullets about the same as I could get online.
Saw some nice older Smith and Wessons.
Definitely taking the trip to Oaks next weekend. Usually miss it because of work'
That's the one at 100 Station Ave?
Ok, I got it. Website lists 2 different addresses.
CFE pistol works well in 45 acp, 6.0 to 6.2 is about right for 230gr plated.
Start your loads a bit lower and work up, I found the higher loads gave me the best accuracy. Use a mild taper crimp with plated bullets.
CFE is not my favorite for 45, though I do use it but not always. Prefer...
Cabelas in DE had Berry's and Rainier in stock earlier this week, picked up a few boxes and more primers. They also had lots of powder on the shelves, though I can't exceed my MD limit:innocent0 so I had to pass.
My thoughts are what you save in shipping is more than the gas.
Three gun setup must be recent, haven't been down there for a few months.
I'm headed there next week to test some reloads, I'll have to check it out.
As far as I know they still had the 500yrd bench.
WST is my preferred powder for 45 range loads, been using it for a few years now.
4.3-4.4 under a 230gr LRN, or 4.8-4.9 for 200gr LRN does the trick.
Also works very well in 40 S&W, less muzzle flip.
And, getting 1100-1200 loads per lb certainly doesn't hurt.
Started reloading in the late 90's, mostly self taught thru books and some advise from a few fellow shooters. And I still take advise:D
What really got me started was a gift from one of my friends neighbors. He was an elderly gent who was downsizing to a retirement community. Cleaning out his...
Another thumbs up for WST:thumbsup:
Works great in 45acp and 40s&w. my brother loads 9mm with it also gets good results.
Recently I've been trying CFEPistol and it looks promising. There was a lot of it around at the Chantilly shows recently. You need to have a few options when your...
I have that exact upper on a Spikes lower, and really like it. Lots of ammo thru it and not a single issue. With a 1x4 scope and 55gr handloads (Bulk Hornady SP) it keeps under 1 moa off sandbags.
It is HBAR, but I like the balance with the rifle-length handguard. Changed that out to a Magpul...
Just got back, a nice wet ride home:sad20:
But, did find some pistol powder:D
Lots of CFE-pistol around, I got a few lbs of that. Found ONE lb of Bullseye!
T and T said he had a case or two of it, sold out Friday nite.
Guy in the back had a 16 lb keg of Bullseye, wanted $250 for it, didn't...
I live maybe 10 minutes away, so I'll be at the show Sunday.
There was a guy selling reloading powder last year, but had to pass when I saw the prices. We'll see....
Washington Street Pub makes an awesome fish n chips:thumbsup:
WST is about all I use for 45 acp. Also works well in 40, 9mm and 38spl.
4.3-4.4 gr is what I use with 230 gr plated. you can get about 1200 rounds out of a 1 lb can.
I have an FNP-45 and really like it. No issues other than it eats a lot of ammo with the 15 rd mags:D Being able to shoot it DA/SA or SA only is a plus.
It does NOT like low powered reloads, had to bump up the powder level a little.
Otherwise I'll get a few hot ones down my shirt collar.
I hear that. I was down there early last Sunday with my brother shooting pistols, wasn't too bad until about lunchtime. Then the crowds starting rolling in, wasn't a single empty bench after that. We decided it was time to pack it up for the day.
Couple guys next to us did give us their spent...
Went yesterday, good show. Got Pmag 30rd 5.56 magazines , non window, for $10.00 a piece if you buy 5 or more. Best price I saw there, dealer had a huge box full of them. Same dealer had the Pmag windows, think they were $15.
Lots of primers, large pistol were $32 a brick. Got a few pounds of...
