The 15% fee is typical for internet auctions, and they all have to collect taxes now. But I agree the transfer fees are ridiculous. I'm going to say something to the owner about it next time I see him.
Dixon's / Crumpton has upped its game in the last few years - they're now holding Sportsmans auctions online every couple of months. This one just went live - you'll have to wade through a bunch of decoys to get to the guns & ammo...
Powdervalley has Fiocchi SRP's
Fiocchi loaded ammo uses lead styphnate-free primers, which supposedly burns cleaner - not sure these are the same thing, but figured I'll give them a try - price isn't bad by today's standards $120/1500...
You might also take a look at what Edelweiss has to offer - I've never actually purchased from them, but the prices seem reasonable, and a holster is often included:

This Gettysburg show seems to be billed more as an antique and Civil War relic event. Do you know whether anybody will be selling post-1898 guns, and ammo for such?
I'm no expert, but in doing a little research it appears this is only true if you have an FFL/SOT:

Midway has a bunch of Vihtavuori this morning.
Also, wondering if anybody's tried VV-N530 in either 8mm Mauser of 30-06 for a Garand. VV doesn't list N530 load data on their website for 8mm, but it appears to have the right burn rate. It's a relatively newer powder so I'm wondering if they...
That's a very nice collectible rig. Though it's a common WWII variant, if it's all matching, with the extra mag and holster, I'd start the bidding at 2K and it should land somewhat north of that. In addition to sold auction prices, I often use Simpsonltd.com as a gauge, though their prices are...

Just a note on the extractor - mine worked its way out too, and unfortunately I lost the spring. Replaced it with a Star PD extractor spring from Sarco since I couldn't find any for the Star B. Seems to work better than the original, though admittedly the original was probably soft from age...
1892 44-40
I picked this up at Nations the other day - probably paid way too much, but love the "non-gun" status (1893 manufacture). Imagine it's an old re-blue, given the nearly perfect finish.
Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I saw a video of a guy shooting 7.62x54R out of an M95. He could barely hit the paper at 50 yards.. that doesn't seem like much fun to me!
The receiver and stock match, but I don't see any other markings, other than the R and K factory stamps. The bolt lacks...
Hi all, I'm mostly a lurker on this forum, but after a recent buying spree, and a little prodding from Abulg, I decided to post some pics while being snowbound.
I'm fairly new to collecting, and trying to get as much out my C&R, while it lasts. Being late to the game, my strategy has been to...
Here's an interesting comment from CMP. It was in their sales update emailed yesterday, and by this afternoon the ammo had already disappeared from their e-store:
"The XM855 is limited in our inventory and probably the last we will ever see or be allowed to offer."
