Suggestions for a low powered, large objective rifle scope?

I like your way of thinking, Ed. I used to hunt with both a 3x9x40 and 3x9x50 vortex. The bigger glass was much easier over the last ten minutes of the night.

      2024 Spring Turkey Hunting Thread

No luck this week in WVa. Chased a gobbler all around the farm one morning. Second day I called a group into 75 yards but they hung up in those woods for 2 hours. Gobbling, yelping, fighting. Just wouldn't come to the field edge. Walked into the woods and scared them off. Frustrating as...

I'm heading out for WVa opener on Monday. We've been seeing a few toms strutting around. Last year was very windy and I couldn't get them to respond.

      Rugged Alaskan 360?

Rugged has really good deals on brakes through their website, but you have to register your warranty and upload the form 4. I've been trying to get that activated, it takes some time apparently.

      Boot recommendations?

Danner is garbage anymore. Shoe Goo is what you need to fix the sole. OP, head on over to Rokslide and go into the boot section. Short answer, lots of good brands, but they need to be tried on. I've used Salomon, Lowa, Merrell, but my newest are Schnees

      Folding bicycles

Max hit it on the head. Brompton is the best. The others will do the job. Make sure you keep a tire pump handle, a flat repair kit, and know how to use it.

      IDPA USPSA Rules Rant

Hiking Old Rag will now require a ticket

I've done a few hikes in national parks that require a permit, and more than one with a low chance of drawing that permit. The solitude was welcomed, the area would definitely have been destroyed if open to the general public, and I'm generally happy they use the lottery system.

Is “Match”:9 mm ammo actually that much better? I.e. more accurate?

For action pistol, matching bullet weights and recoil impulse/slide speed is more important. You just need bare minimum accuracy that most decent ammo provides.
