B Tech Mechanic Wanted - Columbia, MD

"A" is the toolman saying "Ahhhh...he's not buying crap these days" and "C" is for "C-mon out to the truck! I got a smoking deal on a 3-bay box you can put your oil filter wrenches, 3 screwdrivers, and a pair of vice grips in!"

How Old Were You When You Bought Your First Firearm?

Father in law gave me a S&W 357 revolver shortly after I married his daughter at 19. I never bought anything on my own till I was nearly 30 and moved to rural property where I knew it would be a good idea to keep a 12GA handy for any bothersome critters that needed dealing with. I bought a...

      Any one else shooting groundhogs?

Mullberrys are starting to come out. They're green now, but will ripen and start dropping eventually...and that's like crack to the fat-fuzzies on my place, so I'm sure they will be coming out a lot more soon.....

      Any one else shooting groundhogs?

Like I said earlier - I get shots at them most often while working around my property, not really true hunting. I once had a fit of ground hog hatred fueled rage when a particular fuzzy bastard keep getting away every time I saw him poke his head out - by the time I got the gun up he'd...

2015 camping thread - where are you going?

Camper all de-winterized and ready for the season. Daughter in visiting from out of town is back-yard camping in it this WE (she like it better than a guest bedroom). First weekend out for us next WE.

      Any one else shooting groundhogs?

Groundhogs prompted me to buy my first small rifle when we moved onto our property about 15 years ago. I use a little Marlin .22 mag. My wife laughs at me when the height of ground hog activity comes around, usually when the mulberries drop - ground hogs LOVE mulberries!!-- I keep the rifle...

2015 camping thread - where are you going?

We've gotten into the campground / RV thing lot more in that last few years Age / back / knees don't like sleeping on the ground anymore - did that the whole time we where raising our kids. As others have said - we love being out, but also really like a real bed at night!:D A family...

      Demolition - The Cracked Claw

Kinda sad to see the changes in the community. It's lost a lot of it's character, IMO. Just becoming another suburban development. Older brother worked in the kitchen at Peter Pan around 78. I was younger and remember thinking "Why would you name a restaurant THAT?!":lol2: We never ate there...

Yep...and I'm keepin' em!:D Future son-in-law and I went out back burned up a couple hundred rounds last weekend - started with the oldest ammo for his .22 - and it was all good.

Value / useability of old supplies

The guy came to me this week saying "I found some stuff hiding in storage...I'll bring it in for ya"......More ammo and fired brass, ah alf dozen more sets of dies, some small tools / various parts and half dozen metal ammo cans / one generic Plano type plastic can. Best part is --> FREE:D...

Have You Seen My Catalytic Converter?

A buddy of mine works in an industrial building somewhere near Camden Yards up on a higher floor(6 ht or 7th). The CC thieves hit their lot one day in the middle of the day. The worst part was he happened to look outside / down at his Toyota PU and saw guys crawling under vehicles, one of which...

      MMTA training

We took the Utah permit and HQL class. I thought there was some good info and they seemed to have a good approach / view of relating issues you need to consider relating to firearms ownership / carry / use. Maybe it's specific to that class, but I was amazed at the amount of "sales pitch"...

Auto repair mechanic needed - North Potomac area

If you don't mind running across town a short distance, I could recommend a few places around Kensington / Silver Spring. I do 99% of my repairs myself, but sometimes get work done while I'm at work just off GA Ave inside the Beltway.

What training are YOU planning to take in 2015?

Wife and I both are going for the HQL and Utah CCW class tomorrow -- our Valentines day present to each other :lol2:

      Bench Plans?

I was just browsing through and thinking "I wonder if everyone would think I'm nuts for building a steel bench, since do a fair bit of fabrication and prefer it over wood"...I see it can be very acceptable.

Value / useability of old supplies

The boxed 22 is all LR. I intend to use that up soon. I found a few WMR in a wooden jewelry type box that seems was some sort of scraps box with a few of each caliber the guy must have messed with. I found all different versions / bullet types of a 45, 357, 9mm, 32 and few others - but that...

Value / useability of old supplies

Digging through the pile a bit more while waiting on dinner to cook -- I found a bunch of .41 Mag brass - some new, some fired. Also 25-06 - empty brass and a box of new ammo.

2 Shot at Frederick High School

I dunno....Call me a nut, but I do sorta get it. What I don't get is why people put themselves there in the first place. I saw the area turning to crap when there where shootings / stabbings in Waverly Gardens in the late 70's / early 80's. Then into the 90's - random gang beatings of kids in...

2 Shot at Frederick High School

FHS hasn't gotten that much worse - we had guns on campus / inside even when I was there in the 80's...and it was not good ole boys innocently bringing something in to show their friends.
