Waiting on my 77r for a month now

One warning on that, if you renew or replace your MD driver's license before you use up those apps, that number will be changing if it doesn't already start with "MD..." Your DL number is part of the application, so if you forget you have a new DL you'll probably at the very least be causing...

SB1 - Injunctive relief is provided for private property, locations that sell alcohol, and public demonstrations.

Good for them. It means nothing unless they're wanding you (or happen to notice you're carrying) and tell you to leave. That said, there are better chicken sandwiches to be had.

All of those things are true. As I said, do with it what you will. I understand both those that have said "f it, I know my rights" and also those that have decided they have too much to lose to be a test case. It's entirely a personal choice based on risk tolerance and I don't look down on...

Yes, churches and funeral homes are ok outside of Montgomery County (county ordinance 21-22e). https://www.marylandshallissue.org/jmain/legislation-tracker/342-changes-carry-md If in MoCo most of the county (including churches and 100yds around them) is off-limits for carry due to the...

While some might recommend not carrying (I'm not one of them), "no gun" signs and policies have no legal force in MD. As long as you're not asked to leave and then refuse you're fine to carry in malls with the current preliminary injunction in place.

It's the other way around, what authoritative source have you seen that says it's illegal? Sensitive places are proscriptive lists rather than the places we can carry being prescriptive. The regulation that makes it illegal to carry in state parks (similar exist for state forests and...

Pretty sure that cop was wrong. BW Pkwy is controlled by the National Park Service. It's a national park which means it's legal as long as it's legal in the state (carry in national parks in MD is legal). Also, federal property generally needs to be posted for firearms to be prohibited...

Because the vampire rule for dwellings is probably unwinnable for our side. There's no presumption of carry rights in areas that aren't open to the public. The judge made a mistake in citing the law, but if you read the opinion that went with the order it's clear that he's only talking about...

SB1 (2023) - Criminal Law - Wearing, Carrying, or Transporting Firearms - Restrictions (Gun Safety Act of 2023)

If they did they'd probably make it as scary as possible (perhaps a gun actively firing bullets) and then add into the COMAR that only their sign meets the requirements for "clear and conspicuous." No, thanks.

Poll Only Who Intends to not Change their Carry Behavior Next Month

I'm fine with depending on the implied permission to carry concealed due to existing signs that say not to open carry. It's a strong implication. But in 3 days open carry isn't legal anyway, so I could see the argument that any such signs placed after Oct 1 are just reinforcing the law against...

      Montgomery County Bill 21-22

Yep, I'm very happy that they decided to put this in. It almost makes me wonder if the lawyers are thinking "crap, we didn't actually want to get past the TRO/PI stage for a case we all know we're going to ultimately lose, we were just wanting to put on a good show for the council... quick, how...

Poll Only Who Intends to not Change their Carry Behavior Next Month

While the default is to not display who votes for what with this forum software, the fact that it's even an option means that it's being logged by the system and therefore the MDS owner/operator could be forced to hand over that information with a subpoena. There's a reason in the poll I did a...

Poll: Post-Oct 1, Giving Permission to Visitors to be Armed

My permission is for the general public provided they otherwise have consent to be in my house (i.e. aren't trespassing). This includes workers. If someone asks, I'll give them express permission beyond that. If I'm alive, no prosecutor is going to attempt to try someone for armed trespass if I...

Poll: Post-Oct 1, Giving Permission to Visitors to be Armed

One part of SB1 likely to go into effect is the default no-carry in others' homes without permission. I don't believe MSI is challenging that part directly (just the default no for businesses and then specific sensitive places) and I can't remember what the NRA is challenging in their giant...

      No Magazine of Firearms

But others will ship with the standard size mags provided that your FFL agrees to make them MD legal when they get here. I've always gotten great service from GunBuyer on that front and Cindy's Hot Shots for the local FFL transfer side; I always check to see if they have what I'm looking for...

      Montgomery County Bill 21-22

MoCo asked for, and MSI consented to, a 3 business day extension due to the holiday (and BS about having to fight this in 3 separate courts, but that was self-inflicted so boo-hoo). So September 11.

      Montgomery County Bill 21-22

I've definitely seen that it's "holder" and it's another thing that would discourage prosecution, but technically? Like if your card was revoked, but you still physically had it? Obviously the courts aren't going to agree you're a holder, yet you hold it. If the card isn't valid (because of the...

      Montgomery County Bill 21-22

-ish... until Oct 1 there's still that troublesome language on the card saying the card itself isn't valid where firearms are prohibited. The card also exempts us from the general dangerous weapons prohibitions which aren't directly affected, but if the card isn't valid... ** But the...

      Inside Intel on MoCo 21-22

Lol, I most certainly do not believe that MD police are 2A friendly. Even nationwide, it doesn't matter that the majority say they support gun ownership, (A) it only matters what the cop you're interacting with thinks and (B) if they get orders to violate your rights they absolutely will...
