I imagine someone bored it out to cylinder for "reasons" or the seller could not properly measure with calipers. Also likely, that company's bore and choke dimensions aren't "standard" (and there are a lot of "standards").
I think most ranges understand that youth models are shorter than standard. I remember going through a "firearm inspection" at PGC Trap and Skeet over a decade ago. They were checking to make sure it wasn't pistol grip only or below a certain length (like 24 or 26"). I asked what if I had a...

I'm thinking that's very close to as-issued. It still has the flip sight and no bayonet lug. Those were the first things to be added in the post-war rebuilds. MY CMP carbines went to Italy and have Italian stocks and markings. Those are GI cartouches. I'm thinking it may indeed have come...
2008 per wiki. All black/gray/yellow rat snake subspecies were eliminated and the snakes were grouped into three species based on DNA and location:

I'll third the recommendation. Of the three "ID this snake" pics posted in the past few days, this one is the most unmistakable. The focus and zoom are more than enough to show the telltale red blotches.
I'll migrate to Israeli jokes:
They sought out an American, an Israeli, a Pole, and a Soviet. “Excuse me, we’re conducting a poll on the shortage of meat in your country,” the pollster informed each of the four.
“What’s a ‘shortage’?” the American asked.
“What’s ‘excuse me’?” the Israeli asked...
I should have explained it better: I was going to type it in from memory but googled first to see if it was posted elsewhere. I didn't want to "steal" from that author so i thought a link was more appropriate.
And in the version I remember it was the Levine Brothers
While I should probably post this on a national forum, I've been a member here for a long time and know that this forum knows everything about everything.
Anyway a friend of mine is the great-great-grandson of Brigadier General Odus C. Horney, Ordnance Corps, USA. Obit here...
I have an older model 686 (White Onyx Sporting) and it is a very solid gun. I paid $1800 back in 2007. It sounds like your getting a steal if it's truly new. My only caution is that it sounds like a field model and not a sporting/target model. Target guns tend to have heavier construction...
It's been years since I've shot trap or skeet and reloaded for it. But I'll agree with Buff7mm, that for run of the mill 12ga and 20ga loads buying bulk ammo can be cheaper than reloading. Now if you need something specialized like 28ga or .410 or a reduced-recoil load or some sort of heavy...
Usually Army 0085 Security Guards positions are always restricted to vets. I guess they figure it's a no special skills required and has on the job training so there's always unemployed vets around to fill the slots.
I knew this forum wouldn't let me down.
Surprisingly, we haven't gone there yet. Heck I live four miles from one and have never gone there.
OK I'll give Maime's a look. Olive Tree was #2 on my list of places we know about. It gets a weekly visit from us. Heck since we don't have very...
