SB387 "Public Safety - Untraceable Firearms" - The Ban on Private Firearm Making

If it's the case I recall, they argued they didn't even need to headspace a .50 BMG, that just chambering was sufficient to be a "firearm." Which fits the letter of the law. I'd have to see the receiver in question to express an opinion on how complete it was. But I'm currently working on...

      SBR barrel length

No, you engrave the receiver because that is the firearm, therefore the SBR. I have an entire vault full of NFA here, and I keep a firearm attorney on retainer. The barrel is not a firearm. (Though much of the world does define the barrel as the functional part.)

SB387 "Public Safety - Untraceable Firearms" - The Ban on Private Firearm Making

~~ Define "readily converted." Oh, you can't, Senator? Then GFY. We have a definition of a firearm. Not of "something that might become a firearm eventually." (note I am addressing a hypothetical lawmaker, not jcutonilli) AFAIK, an FFL could receive the frame, log it in, serialize it, as...

      SBR barrel length

You can't register an upper because it is not a firearm, and you should not attempt to do so because it might encourage ATF to start treating them as firearms, as they have already threatened. That would mean two stamps. You should register the shortest configuration you have. Registering...

      Collecting WWII militaria is fun

I have a 1941 Tula sniper with matching scope, if I can get it out of the vault. I've been helping a friend's family with his estate. Just sold a Steyr Hahn and a Japanese Army helmet. Does anyone need a drop tank off an F105? Serious question.

      Survival Food Scams

We easily have a year's worth for the family in cans, dry, and frozen, and we raise chickens, ducks, quail, and rabbits. The prepared stuff doesn't take "an Amazon warehouse." The important thing is to rotate through and keep stuff within shelf life, and buy things you're actually going to...

      Collecting WWII militaria is fun

Well, I didn't buy anything WWII. I bought a Glock 19 for my son who's about to turn 21, and a Darne sliding breech 12 gauge for my wife.

I'm not in MD. Indy 1500 Gun and Blade show. Though I do have a few items on Gunbroker.

      Collecting WWII militaria is fun

I'll try to get some pics. Big show this weekend, so I may not have time. OTOH, I need to rearrange the WWII vault after some recent finds, so I may have stuff out.

Both shot very well. If I can shoot it, I do. We just got custom 14 gauge brass for my wife's 1858 Charles Lancaster shotgun, and fired that. Shoots great, especially at 163 years old.

      Collecting WWII militaria is fun

Thanks, all. Reptile: I actually hate the Garand personally. The ones we had for base honor guard were junk, jammed, and smashed fingers constantly. I've never liked the design. My M1D is a nice historical piece, though, and decently accurate. Gew 43 with scope and two correct mags.

Soviet 91/30 Sniper, all original WWII, no import marks. Gew 41 that some twit sporterized by cropping the magazine, but I have a source for a replacement.

Found one. I'll need to get another with the bayonet mounted.

Clone on a Stemple receiver. Shoots almost identically. Ian covered them recently.

Yes, 1863 Colt Pocket Navy, factory converted to .38 Rimfire. I should have reloadable rimfire brass for it soon.

      US WWII gun collection!

Transferrable Thompsons are currently $25,000 to $35,000. A friend's estate may have a transferable DEWAT for sale shortly. We're trying to find paperwork for it either in his files or through ATF. It was deactivated by welding the barrel to the receiver, and the breech closed.

Ah, Oleg got pics of the Type 2 last month. And the Type 44, which looks new. Yes, that's a museum tag on it. Came from a friend who loaned it to them.

Actually a pre-War commercial model, but I believe some were used rear echelon.

It was, but the latch has been replaced with an original. It works with tape-wrapped 12 gauge flares, and I now have some 10 ga cases, but I'm hesitant about loading them for anything. I'll have to check the Walther. I actually scored a box of parachute flares a couple of years ago. Those...
