According to the OPRA
In 2014, 266 permits were issued by New Jersey State Police and 230 permits were issued by municipalities in 2014, thus totaling 496 permits total
Good afternoon, all
I've gotten some data from the New Jersey State Police about permits to carry handguns, and I thought I'd share it with you.
While they do not keep track of how many are "active" at any given time, they report how many are issued. Since these permits are valid for 2...
Not sure if you're aware, but I do a monthly PIA request with the State Police and receive numbers. Check out my last one here . There's about 0.45% of the MD population with a W&C.
Here are some stats based off the filing date
2016 - 1 case total; it was dismissed
2015 - 3 cases total; 1 affirmed HPRB (denied), 1 voluntarily dismissed, 1 case revered HPRB's and MSP's decision (yay!)
2014 - 1 case total; it was dismissed
2013 - 1 case total; it was voluntarily dismissed...
Just a thought. I wonder if there are any circuit court judges that are more 2A friendly than the MSP? Maybe they might have a different clarification of "good and substantial" that includes self defense.
Just a thought.
To all,
I just received a reply from my most recent PIA from the MSP with the following information [If there is anything specific you all want, let me know, and I will see if I can include it in a PIA; I do them on a monthly basis]:
1) Number of active Wear and Carry Permits (W&C) as of...
They do not distinguish to my knowledge. If I had to guess, it would be 90% handguns 10% lowers
And 43k is pretty solid. We're on pace for 50k. Look at the chart below for 77r by year:
I received a response to a PIA in regards to the Licensing Portal. See below for an interesting tidbit -
"To date (11/03/2017), the Licensing Portal has received and processed 42,791 applications, and 40,371 citizens have logged in and created an account."
1.06 applications per person - that...
That should come in next month. From what I believe, all of the numbers I report do not include LEO after LEOSA was passed. There is a separate application style for LEOSA permits, but I haven't been able to find much data on it.
