      Budget 308 bolt rifle?

If you find one at a reasonable price…the Remington 788 has a lot to offer. They have a well earned reputation for shooting above their price and class. I have one in .223 I mounted in a laminated stock and it’s very consistent in shooting small, tight groups with generic, white box ammo.

      S&W "CLASSIC" BLUE REVOLVERS AVAILABLE...

I’ve seen S&Ws, Colts, Rugers Dan Wessons and others over the years with incredible blue finishes. I’ve seen some with finishes that were embarrassing to the breed. I own a couple of Colt revolvers that rival or better the Pythons of the era…all I can guess is production was slow and the...

Tennessee legislature passes bill to arm teachers; leftist lose their minds

Leftists encroach and infringe on our rights bit by bit…taking another chunk each legislative session. There’s nothing wrong with turning this around…pass this now even if it’s not perfect. Next year improve it. Same strategy but pro-freedom.

700mil +++ : the number of “hi cap” mags (>10 rounds) : NSSF

Numbers like that doesn't mean such firearms qualify as "in general use". :sarcasm: Whatever the number is...it's a good start.

An Israeli answers "Why I got a Gun"...

This could have gone in the "Israel in Turmoil" thread but I thought since it discusses issues relevant to our rights as well I'd post a separate thread on it. It's from an Israeli writer discussing why he got a gun. Why I got a gun

      M1903 vs M1917

There were units in Italy that were issued M1903 rifles and kept them throughout their service. The M1903 saw more service than normally realized...probably because most movies and shows about WWII showed M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, BARs and Thompsons. The 1903 was still carried by many for...

AR 9 Colt Mag Variations- Beware!

My Colt marked mags and Brownell's mags run perfectly. No idea who made them for Colt and Brownell's. Actually...the Brownell's mags seem better made...at least heavier and far less expensive.

      Revolver porn thread.

That’s what everyone thought until they suddenly showed up in the market. Colt seems to be doing stealth releases…no announcements…no fanfare…just dropping new stuff.

Aguila ammo any good? Any problems jamming?

      I've used Aquila 9mm and .45 ACP...never a problem.

      M1903 vs M1917

The 1917 has the better battle sights. The 1903 has the better target sight. The ‘03A3 has the better practical sights.

multiple gun safes vs mega safe?

Your belongings expand to fill the volume of space. Plan for more than you think you’ll need. Start planning for an addition to your home. Plan for it to be steel lined with a vault door and temperature and humidity controlled.

Anyone here have a small towable utility trailer, the kind they sell at the big box stores?

If it's an assemble it yourself trailer...it requires inspection along with the certificate of origin it should come with. If it's a new factory assembled trailer it doesn't require inspection but the certificate of origin is required. If the trailer is not used on public roads it requires...

What IS the definition of "assault weapon", officially?

The original AR-15 was select-fire made for the military trials during the 1950s. It wasn't type classified as the M16, M16A1 or any other designation until after acceptance in the early '60s. The civilian AR-15 wasn't released for commercial sale by Colt until the 1960s.

Anyone here have a small towable utility trailer, the kind they sell at the big box stores?

Before buying a trailer...check to see what the GVWR max rating is for your car. There's no need to buy a trailer that can carry more than your car can safely tow.

Anyone here have a small towable utility trailer, the kind they sell at the big box stores?

I used to have a 4'x8' trailer I bought at Harbor Freight...assemble it yourself. I used some 2"x4" uprights and composition for the flooring and side slats. For twenty years it did everything I needed. It had a GVWR of 980 lbs. which I think I may have overloaded a few times. When we...
