      Do not rule out low end xbows too quickly. Of course, Ravin and TenPoint are nicer, but more expensive xbows are unnecessary to take deer.       Unless your kids have unusual self-control / restraint, I recommend waiting a few seasons. As we all know, hunting requires silence.       Is there a MD DNR reg regarding harvest sequencing of deer sex? For example, can I shoot two bucks back-to-back at the start of the season (with a bonus antlered tag or course) or are you required to take a certain amount of does after killing a buck?
