Some good data there, thanks for sharing.
60 days to me is less than ideal, but I've not been able to carry in MD for many years now, so a couple more months is do-able I guess.
My DD214 after 6 years of service included exactly zero time being formally trained on handling a pistol, and a probably a few hours handling a rifle during basic. No need for an airborne linguist to carry a weapon stateside I guess.
At some point I'll probably get some training specific to...
Seems like at least the folks who submitted early on really do have a reasonable wait time. Here's hoping that the pace keeps up even after the influx of applications later in the game.
I saw the Freestate gun range has a list of rentals published on their site, which includes some nice carry options. They're probably the closest range to me, so I'm thinking that's my next stop to get some testing done. Definitely trying out the Hellcat.
Man they’re right around the corner from me, drive past the building all the time. I do recall them closing multiple times in the past, had no idea things were that crazy in there though.
We only shot the M16 back when I went through basic training in 2006. Many jobs would train and qualify with the sidearm when deploying, I got out before I had that opportunity.
Other branches, at least USMC and the Army, both likely have extensive training with sidearms. I just happened to be...
Couldn't agree more. My service in the Air Force had me fire a pistol exactly zero times. Fortunately I was in Arizona for several years where I learned a lot about firearms, but someone serving in the military definitely does not mean they can safely carry a firearm.
I'm exempt from the W&C classes because of my military background, though I thought about taking the class anyway. After seeing the prices for most of the courses, I'm definitely going to skip. Crazy how expensive they are!
I'm definitely hearing huge swings in acceptance periods for these apps. Maybe it really does just come down to some had started applications some time back and get moved to the front?
I’m quite sure you’re right! I’m guessing supply will be low in the coming months when more and more get their permits. Definitely want to get working on one now!
