It sounds like the same advertising execs that describe the capacity of gun safes are promoting these shows. Usually one third of what they tell you will fit/be there:-)
To avoid the crowds, I hope, we are going Tuesday this year. Last year on the last Saturday it was packed. Many also saying they were leaving on Sat to be home for Superbowl, so Sunday did not sound so good to go. Who wants to see abandoned booths?!?
For the garage safe, a little boot warmer device made for this works great. Keeps the inside temp slightly higher than outside and prevents condensation. A little H20 absorption device also goes a long way.....
I prefer to always clean after a shooting event. Why risk the conditon being caked...
I would suggest a Colt Diamondback. He will be able to use it much sooner than most of the other larger caliber models suggested and it is a classic/beautiful gun.
Its part of the therapy of shooting. Also, it could weeks to years before next time shot. Leaving the residue sounds like abuse of a tool. Also, who wants to reach into the safe and grab a dirty weapon?
