So glad I am moving out of this state. Moving to a 2A friendly state.

      Shooting metal and local ranges.

I’m moving to 93 acres in Vermont. Won’t be an issue for me.

When to Apply for MD Carry Permit

I qualify but am moving to a constitutional carry state in about six months so I will not bother with MD

PDR technique instead of drilling for 10 rnd mag

Magazines I’m fortunate that I’m able to obtain standard capacity magazines. I don’t have many neutered magazines. Magazines may be “perishable” items but they can be expensive to replace.

Good to know that a TS clearance will get a person a carry permit in MD.

Does it make sense to get a range bag?

I’ve not been to the range since pre-COVID. Was closed then limited to LEOs and active military. Now it’s because I don’t want to fire off ammunition that I cannot readily and cheaply replace. When I did go to range which is a 40 minute driver, firearm in locked case in trunk, ammo in range bag...

Are there stats on how many minorities have an HQL?

I don’t have a HQL. One thing Maryland did right is exempt retired military from the requirement to obtain one. The Second Amendment should be sufficient.

      Moved to Maryland- Handgun Registration

I brought a .22 bolt action rifle to MD from KS after my father passed in 2014. I have lived in MD since 2001. Before I went to KS, I contacted MSP and asked what I needed to do to bring that rifle into MD legally. When I told them it’s at least 80 years old, they said it’s an antique so I did...

      High cap mags

Standard vs “High Capacity” When I bought my G17 Blue Label in MD the dealer replaced the standard magazines that came with it with neutered magazines of the 10 round variety. I went to Va and bought standard versions. Doing that made the overall purchase of the G17 more than it cost under the...

      Shooting After Dark

Shooting After Datk As stated earlier, I too live in Calvert (P. Fred) and I hear gun shots regularly somewhere off in the distance (Stokley/MF Bowen area or thereabouts). I think it is awesome. Love the sound of the 2A!!

      Shooting After Dark

It could be a county law but I do not know. Glad you live on such a property that you can shoot. I live in Calvert but in P. Fred and would love to have access to a place locally to shoot. Difficult to get to a range. Moving to Vermont in a couple of years to family farm (wife’s side)...

FFL refused to transfer high capacity mag

FFL and “High Capacity Mags” I bought my Glock in Maryland and the dealer pulled the three standard capacity 17 rounds Mags and replaced them with neutered 10 founders. Was not charged anything extra nor was anything discounted. I then obtained standard capacity magazines in VA.
