      MD Arsenal- Range

      Friendly staff. I have used them for transfers and use to frequent the range before their price hike. It is a relatively short distance to really dial anything in. Okay for pistol self defense training.

      Hafers has a nice selection. Kimbers, Colt, Nighthawk, Dan wessons.. call before hand. They are great to talk too before making the drive. I bought my Kimber Rapide from them. Thousands of rounds through it, never a hiccup. With 1911s you definitely want to handle them before settling on one.

      Congrats! Buy something that will stand the test of time. A fine revolver in a caliber that a semi-auto cannot handle. 44 mag. DA- Colt ananconda SA- Ruger Super blackhawk. Buy new so your family are the sole owners from day one.

      One in the chamber. I don't fault anyone for feeling uneasy about that though. Weigh the risk for yourself. I carried a dummy round/snap cap in mine for a month before I felt comfortable.

      AR9 or any other AR pistol, DOES not have to be on the hand gun rooster. Buy the receiver and register as other and wait the 7 days. Build it into a pistol of your liking. Just don't flip flop. Build it as a pistol first and not as a rifle. Clear as mud.

      Sounds like I'm the minority here. My gen 1 mags have zero issues. Also my factory 43x trigger is the best of all my glocks. I would never consider fooling with it.

      Look into Magnum Research 1911s.. they offer a 10mm version. Bul armory makes them for MR. It is a lot of bang for relatively low buck. Usually around $850ish + tax/transfer. I haven't seen a single complaint about these and have put 600rds through mine. No need to tinker/F* with these.

      I love my G20 and can't see going wrong getting one.. G40 if you want to hunt. Also have a MR 1911 in 10mm.. it is a sweet pistol.. only holds 10rds though.

      I used blue customworks today at Frederick GS. Easy to deal with and professional engraving. Like everyone before me stated he's good to go for this service. My buddy had his done at his shop so that is an option too.
