      Pistol in Car Dilemma

Exactly. Duty to retreat. You are not IN your house. You are not IN immediate threat. Call the police and move back. Period.

      Pistol in Car Dilemma

OMG...that was pretty funny. My RAM actually came with a lockable vault in the console.

Does anyone here actually use a shoulder rig?

Seen the clip-draw. Interesting concept. Read a lot of love/hate reviews. But everyone has an opinion. I did buy the Galco pocket for the 26 as well. Wasn't thrilled w/the trigger coverage, took pictures, and sent to Galco with some questions. They explained to me that the gap on the one-side...

Does anyone here actually use a shoulder rig?

I have horizontals. The Army used to have fits about it with the M9. I also made a horizontal for the Glock. Almost bought the Miami Classic (and would have been less expensive than making my own). I am well versed in the Glock's safety mechanisms, but 40 years of manual safeties and a hammer...

Does anyone here actually use a shoulder rig?

I know they get a bad rep, but I first used one in Afghanistan (local market buy, and another in Iraq for my M-9 when on FOB and not needing the full battle-rattle. I found them comfortable, accessible (not as fast as 3:00 OWB, but pretty good) For a 2013 Cross-Country motorcycle trip, I...

What did you learn at your Wear & Carry training class that you didn't know before attending?

Since no longer on duty/uniformed representing LEO (military), probably hypersensitive concealment. Don't need the hassle or conflict. Still trying out different carry options. Being a little wide-at-the-waist, IWB isn't my best option (though, 5 oclock is doable; not a fan of appendix, lean to...

What did you learn at your Wear & Carry training class that you didn't know before attending?

First, this has been a good thread and I appreciate the comments. Second, the vehicle storage aspect-I had issues with the way the MDSP website really skirted this issue with decent specificity. I have a LEOSA, and for some reason, carrying as a civilian is different for me (worry about...

      Electronic Fingerprint File

I have used PrintScan and FBI check. It was $50 for that and my FBI sheet. They have stations in many places you may not be aware of. The one I was directed to was an insurance company. Within 4 hours I had my FBI sheet in my inbox. (Used for LEOSA).

Don’t Take Your Gun Off in Bathrooms

Yep. Used to do that w/my M9 in IZ. right there. its pretty hard to forget it there and you DONT want to fish that out of the Spot-O-Pot. That blue will never come out of your hands. Trust me on that.

      Remington 700 Police

Nice rifle. Have one I bought new in the late 80s in .308 at the Howard Co show. I wanted a SA, but couldn't afford one, and this was a good buy at 650 new and in box. I put a Leopold Bench Rest 25x on it and a Harris bipod. Didnt get out to shoot it often as kids, etc, and run a bore swab...

bass pro shops gun counter guys

Well, he doesn't have his way. Cops enforce, not interpret. My experiences w/Bass Pro has been positive in the past. Just in the last 2 years or so, there always is a line. So, haven't bought a firearm from them in a couple years.

.45 Long Colt for Deer Hunting

And they could use a better technical writer. I remember the hunting reg used to be only a few pages that you could fold and put w/your license. Now they have the magazine, all the adds. Nice magazine, but poor/confusing writing.

.45 Long Colt for Deer Hunting

Correct. Cast is OK. FMJ is a NOGO. BTW, I cast my .44 Mags (LEE 310 FP) to about 11-12 BHN. Run them over 21g 296, push them out of a Dan Wesson 6", Ruger 10.5, 20" Win 94, and 16" Win 94 Trapper. Most of the egg-heads on other forums say they should not stabilize out of the long twist...

.45 Long Colt for Deer Hunting

That's a first heard for me as well. I've been hunting in MD for 40 years-and still suck at it :) As long as it was a legal hunting device. Used to be a NOGO carrying a firearm while bow-hunting, but the changed that about 7 years ago. I used hunt Greenridge (along with nearly everyone else...

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Reloading and leathework deerassassin22, Nice bench. My reloading is done in the garage and space is tight. Loaded up some .44 Mag (240 Nolser over 23gr 296) but didn't feel like swimming at the range yesterday to see how well they fly out of the trapper, Dan Wesson, and Ruger. While this...

      VC made 1911 pistol

That's pretty awesome. Saw quite a few handmade AKs over in AFN. Some crappy single shots (dungars) Many home-made AKs made in south western Pakistan you could buy in the markets/markaz. Many were very well done and they worked. I suppose now I could probably find M4's and a Blackhawk at the...
