Hmm, maybe a typo here. You say, "This is the double spring version that will not work with Gen 4 and Gen 5 only...." but then say it's also not for Gen 3?
OP was about AIM surplus’ LEO firearm, a P320 in .40 SW. AIM continues to advertise a host of LEO turn in pistols at good prices.
I’m not going to take a road trip to Ohio where AIM has their storefront to pick up a SIG mag.
Just trying to figure how good a deal it is to buy a LEO turn in...
Called AIM. No dice- she said if they sold a firearm to me they’d remove the mag. If I bought it from a dealer who bought it from them- get this- then they’d ship the firearm w the mag. Ok, even though clearly they have to ship to a MD dealer (FFL) if it it’s sale to me? Yep. The woman I...
Not really. I read a webpage. @teratos above said, "most will." Just trying here to find out if anyone had experience with AIM Surplus, specifically. I figure I'll go give them a call and then I'll let AIM answer my question.
So does anybody know if AIM will ship the hi-cap mags to MD or remove them from the firearm? True, we know that the MDSP Advisory (LD-FRU-24-004) says that a Maryland FFL may receive a high cap magazine and then pin it so it has a max capacity of 10 rounds. Does AIM Surplus know this?
The AIM...
I like Safariland comp2, but I admit that’s all I’ve ever used w my GP100. I like that there is no knob you need to turn when you’re releasing the rounds.
Choosing a speed loader is just step 1.
I recommend practice with a cylinder full of spent shells and snap caps in the speed loader. Run...
I found the 4.1 gr and the 4.3 gr (max) of N340 were both good shooting loads. Groups were a toss up. Loaded HST at 1.142 COAL with CCI 550 Sm pistol magnum primers.
I don’t have an outdoor range where I can run them over my chronograph. Thank you AR for some nice components!
AR has been good for me. Bought their pulled HST 147gr, weighed a few and found only a couple with a little bit of sealant. No marks.
They group up fine for a SD load- probably just fine for a match load (but who’d shoot JHP in a match?)
I’ve also loaded up .308 pulled 168gr Noslers for K31...
When I ran .38 special loads w N340 over the chrono they had wide Extreme spread. Hoping this heavy 9mm load is right in its wheelhouse. Vihtavuori data has the max at 4.3 gr, so we’ll see how the ladder goes.
Loaded 9mm load work up with 147 gr HST pulled slugs from American Reloading. Going to see what I can use this Viht. N340 for. It didn’t impress me in .38 special, and it’s makes mild .357 loads.
Great! That was the first rifle cartridge I ever reloaded, too. Had years of pistol reloading under my belt. 7.5 x 55 is a good one to hand load.
Recommend making a dummy with a slit case neck to figure out the bullet seating; the K31 has short distance to the leads. I also did the trick of...
Got an antique 1888 Springfield Trapdoor rifle. Just need a look over for safety checks.
I’m guessing this is basic work for any trained gunsmith: headspace, chamber, bore and barrel inspection, lock work function, firing pin, maybe muzzle erosion measurement, and a check of the stock...
I’m amazed at how easily people swallow the underlying assumption that what you don’t need you shouldn’t have. It’s front and center in the bill when it erroneously tries to say there’s no purpose like hunting or sporting use, so because you don’t need it, people shan’t have it, right?
When...
I don’t know where I’ve been lurking, but it should have been here. I work in aerospace, and I can appreciate the work you’ve done on this project.
It’s checked a lot of the same technical areas of a space project: mechanical, software, controls, metrology. Range time is akin to environmental...
The upside to impromptu body work on your truck is that the second round should go clean through, unimpeded. The downside is the game might not stick around to get shot.
