Had a savage 93R17 - stainless composite stock with 4-16 glass on top.
Shot 3/16" 5 shot groups at 50 yds. and 9/16" 5 shot groups at 100 yds.
Accurate with any ammo I fed it.
Sold it when I moved out West because I had no practical use for it anymore.
My only complaint would be the stock felt...
Welcome aboard from another 637 guy.
The Whale was my first boat.
Born and raised in Calvert and after the Navy came back to Calvert, until we moved west in 2014.
This.....I was one of those who was butthurt for years. Tired of carrying a security clearance for 20+ years, but couldn't carry in my home state. While people with records, and who knew the right people, were given permits. Tired of seeing a state with gun laws as lax as any state back in the...
Exact same reason the current asshats predecessors passed a piggyback AWB on the state level in 1994. Didnt make much sense at the time...until the federal ban sunsetted in 2004 and ours didnt.
Hoppes and other cleaning kits came with a small can of oil. Once that ran out most folks just used the small red and white cans of 3 in 1 oil. Not much specialty stuff available in the 70s and 80s. Stuff worked very well...but collected more dust/dirt which just meant you had to clean and oil...
Great pic of the range. I was thinking about The Grove the other day, and the douchebag rape whistle guy. Still getting used to all the firearms related freedoms out here. After living in MD for so long, things that are normal in the rest of the country still seem weird to me out here.
Couldn't have asked for a better transaction!
Thanks for the easy transaction and item exactly as described. I couldn't ask for anythign else. Also, thanks for meeting me on my way to VA.
Probably the one good thing to come from all that Y2k crap.
I'm still working on $8.97 Walmart 500 round bulk packs.
I've even generated some smiles when I threw some bulk pack karma, unexpectedly on MDS trades.
It was at the height of the shortage, so it was nice to make some site members...
You're dead on with this. The vast majority of Navy folks (probably 95%) either never fired a gun during their career, or if they did...it was a .22 or simulator in Boot Camp. Exceptions are SEALs, SWCC, EOD, Pararescue, Master at Arms folks, Gunners Mates, submarine folks and maybe some...
Probably gonna catch some flak for this, but part of this problem is in the laws themselves.
When you exempt active LEO from just about every firearms law passed in this state, what can you really expect for a strong knowledge base.
Logic says to me that if LEO had to obtain and comply with...
My guess is no. Especially since he paid below market value for it.
There are a group of folks that seem to be followers of the grey blanket.
Congrats on a great find.
Yep...missing from the Russian Captures and some other Mauser models too.
My Brazilian Mq .30 M954 was missing them when I bought it.
Lots of folks need them and they usually go for $5-6 a pair.
Yep....Type 2.
Very rare to find one of those that bubba hasn't touched and/or is matching (parts and both halves).
Judging by the name on the trench mag pic, I would guess that it's not a Bubba either.
9b is a Mauser Trigger Guard screw. There is usually one short one and one longer one.
The smaller capture screws tighten up against the cutouts in the head.
Really small and short with a similar rounded cutout on one side of the head of the screw.
Probably have a bunch of them somewhere in the...
