Aside from the obvious teaching campuses like John's Hopkins and UofMd in the city, which hospitals are armed that would be in "these parts"? Meaning AA, PG, Balt county.
I've seen a ton of hospital security job listings and none I recall were armed.

I do it for the card. lol But, I see some of the worst gun handlers ever at these quals and I totally understand why. I play their game for 3 hours, shoot my however many rounds and leave until next year. Rinse, repeat.

Well, these really are exceptional scenarios, certainly around these parts. Definitely not what they were thinking when making the decision to install them.

Just so we are clear, it certainly won't be just low light shooting. Now I have some time to scout out the SxS trail to the lake.
We can do it if people want to make the trip. there are 2 other bedrooms with their own bathrooms. someone can take a couch. It gets warm in the Summer, but not too brutal with 1700ft elevation. Tenting wouldn't be too rough. There's plenty camper space too.

Proximity to the shooter determines your course of action. Timing is your friend as well.
If he is just starting the shooting and you are close, like a distance you are confident you can make a shot, then take it right then. Close the gap if you have to. If not, then get the hell out of dodge...
