Just used it to pump the rifle to 4k....no problems....very fast, since the tank isn't large.....less than 2 minutes....I ran it up to 3k, then decided to go to 4k. The water from the pump was warm, more tepid than anything. I didn't ice it this time. The housing and metal coils give off a small pulsing shock when it is running though....I wear gloves when I run it....not sure what is going on with that.....it obviously isn't 120v...

Got the caldwell chrony in this week. Just put about 12 shots through it, playing with the avenger. I dialed the regulator to 1900/2000 psi and turned the hammer spring almost all the way in....it is hitting at 860 fps. I'm good with that, since it drilled a single hole at 25 yards. I lightened the trigger spring a tad, but without a gauge, I have no idea what the pull weight is. Doesn't really matter to me, it feels good (compared to the stoeger springer anyway) I've been using a 12x10 breaker box as my catch for years. I have to beef it up now. Since this rifle actually hits in the same spot, I shot a hole in the back of it. My springer stoeger shoots 620 fps and has merely dented it. I will pump the avenger back up and shoot some more with it later. So far, I'm pleased with it. I want to see how many shots I can get if I fill it to 3500.

I'm guessing you're shooting a pretty heavy pellet to only be getting 860 at 1900. Mine is set between 1400 and 1500 and I can throw the 14.3 Crosman's over 900. I backed it off a bit to get best accuracy at 875-885

Yeah...JSB Jumbo exact...18 and some change. I bought a very large tin of them...I reinforced my catches last night with blank gang box covers....one in front and one on the rear....bolted on in the corners...should be enough.

Not sure how much tuning you've done but here's how I go about getting the best efficiency and lowest ES from a regulated gun. Once you pic a reg pressure start with a light hammer strike. Then increase the hammer until you max out on FPS. Note the ax and then back off the hammer spring until you get an average FPS that is 2-3% lower. IF you max out around 900 then you would want to tune the hammer till you average 870-880. If this is not where you want to be then lower or raise the regulator and re-tune the hammer.

Thank you. Counting this one, I've tuned one. That is the procedure I followed. I had a basic starting point from reading an article that an experienced shooter/owner used.... I however, neglected to note the weight of the pellets he was using. I like the accuracy and power the heavy pellets are hitting with...but I have only the springer to compare it to. I will be ordering some lighter pellets for the springer, as it should be doing better than 620....currently shooting 18.13gr...I will try some in the 13-14 gr range. I have a tin of the gamo rockets; the ones with the BB in the nose...those blew the back out of a target trap with the springer...so, they aren't ideal for plinking, but they were accurate. Now that I have a chrony, I can actually see what it prefers in terms of speed and accuracy.

Got some shots in this morning...without touching anything...it was averaging 920fps...keyhole from the rest at 25 yards. That's with the heavier pellets. I ran some lighter 14gram crossman hollow points thought the springer Stoeger....it gained 100fps....712-720 fps....in-between a dime and nickel size group...I can live with that...I may tweek the Avenger when I have a bit more time...but for now, I'm content. The advice and guidance here has been much appreciated.

I watched several videos and read other reviews on the Hong Yeng Air compressor and pulled the trigger yesterday. The final straw was, my scuba tank was down to 2500 pounds and so I tried to top off my Marauder Pistol and the pump took a dump. That's it, no more hand pumping for me. :party29:

I would definitely recommend running ice in the cooling water for larger tanks. Mine works very well..but I'm only pumping up the internal tank on the avenger. I ordered mine from Ebay...out of Jersey I believe...it came very quickly. I picked up a gallon of compressor oil from Pep Boys for 13$...not the synthetic. I figure I will change it as often as I like at the first sign of discoloration, so I stayed cheap on that end.

Mine is coming today so it must have been close by. I ordered the purple compressor oil from Amazon (also coming today) just to get going as I couldn't find anything at autozone or advance auto. I never thought to try pep boys.

My plan is to just keep topping off my 80CF scuba tank so I figure I'll just be pumping from 2800 to 3100 psi. I also looked into garden pumps to cycle more water through the compressor. They are only about $20 but, according to the online users, give much better water flow. I also plan to make a water separator and buy some extra Orings and blow out disks for the compressor.

Have any of you guys put a Donnyfl sumo on one of these? I got mine and the extended adapter, but my 22 avenger ship date got pushed from 10-20 to 11-09.

A little late, I put my order win with Pyramid Air two weeks ago. :sad20:
So did I. But I talked with randy at r&l and I now have two 22 avenger rifles coming from him with a compressor. He confirmed rifles are ready to ship. I'm debating on canceling my order with pyramid.

Really liking mine thus far. I'm eager to get it out to shoot it at greater distances.
