Setup my new to me RCBS Charge Master. Great to have friends that keep upgrading.

Bought one a while back, and finally got it out of the box, and set-up.

The ONLY thing I DO NOT like about it......... the printed instructions are TOO DANGED SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!

My old eyes need at least 14 pt type. 16 pt is better!!!!!!! :)

I made a video of the ChargeMaster throwing charges. 17 seconds, to throw 46.5 grains.

    I like it!

Finished my new reloading center, and can now sit comfortably at it. Also, installed a drawer for storage and I retired the Husky reloading center it is now the gun cleaning station.

Neat reloading benches are a sure sign of mental illness. :innocent0

This is curable however, now get to it and work for a cure.

    Soooooooooo true!!!!!!

My reloading room/gun room, is also my meager woodshop.

It's also become somewhat of a 'storage room', since I cleaned out my parents' house, after their deaths.

The only photos I'll take in that area, are 'close in, tight shots'.

Can't wait for cooler weather. I'm hauling the vast majority of the stuff to the dump, different charities.

I am the OCD King, I ran out of space in my garage and I have a full wood shop there, a welding area, two jeeps and a Kubota tractor with front end loader and back hoe. Yup everything stowed it it's place too. Half of the basement is now dedicated to reloading, maintenance and leather work. :D

Search online for programming it. You can throw the charge faster. And it seems going faster up to the end reduces the over weight charges.

I have done a lot of testing with my Chargemaster. (Thousands of throws with the results measured on a lab analytical balance.) There are three separate programmable settings for dispensing corresponding to the three different rotation speeds and at how far from the set point the switch from faster to slower occurs. The short story is that the Chargemaster can be reprogrammed to dispense faster, but precision suffers (thrown charges have a wider spread of actual mass). It can also be programmed slower, and precision improves (charges are much closer to each other, usually +/- a granule or two). I have mine set on a slower dispense, and collect the charges in glass vials, while reading or listening to a book on my tablet. But I can appreciate those who would like to sacrifice a bit of precision for faster dispensing.

Starting to load 41mag again after ordering a Henry lever and I'm finding out jacketed bullets are nonexistent. Maybe the top companies are to busy producing the common calibers?

Loading up some 223 with 55gr vmax and h335. Been having a serious fox problem this year have lost over 30 chickens and have dispatched 5 foxes fixed on killing more. The 64gr gold dots I had been using are a little too solidly constructed for small varmints and don't seem to be expanding much...the vmax should work better on pests

If they don't work well for you, I know the Speer 50 grain will. It is a DRT bullet for Coyote sized varmints.

Thanks I'll try those next if the vmax don't work out. I have never used anything lighter than 62gr in any of my rifles before. I worked the load up in a 14.7" 7 twist fn upper and they didn't give me any issues. Only left the tube at 2750fps but they grouped well. Hopefully that's fast enough for the shrapnel effect.

Recently invested in a chargemaster lite, and I'm liking it so far. I've conducted ladder tests with 160 grain GC .309/2R lee casts, CCI200's, mixed HS cases, and shooters world blackout powder to get a workable load for a mini-30 that is notoriously inaccurate with conventional steel cased ammo (literally minute of berm, lucky to even hit the paper at 100y type of accuracy). Slugged the bore, and it came out to .308, so .310/.311 bullets are not suitable for this. Could possibly invest in a barrel strut to support the thin profile barrel, but reduced cast loads may produce acceptable results.

Starting loads (load that reliably cycles the action) produced cloverleafs at 25y chronoing @ 1485 fps, so I moved out the target out to 100y (optimistic, but I was excited to see it shoot that accurate). The same starting loads opened up to a 5moa group at 100y. Went home and loaded up a proper ladder with the starting load being the control and came back to the range 2 days later. Mid level loads started to close the group as close as 1moa. Loads in the higher side opened back up, probably from reaching velocities too rough on the cast bullets. Hopefully the 1moa groups can be replicated for the next round of reloads.

    Thanks.
The speed that it's throwing charges (sofar!) isn't bad.

    I don't rush things when I'm loading/reloading.
Lastly, even though he's 25, my son is just starting out, reloading.

I won't be 'around' forever, and he's the only one of my kids that's interested in the shooting sports/hunting, and I'm trying to teach him to be as methodical and precise as possible.

"Aim small. Miss small. Load slow. Be precise." - sort of thing.

Hahaha, me too, up close and tight is better for the pics - small room with the reloading/workshop bench and boxed items in storage. I'm looking at things to clear out so I can fit in another small bench.
