1972 Colt Detective. A retired LEO friend gave it to me (via an FFL). He bought it when he was a rookie as a back-up piece and never carried it or shot it. It's never been fired in 49 years.

Nice Dick Special! That is something to keep. That configuration Detective Special is the quintessential detective gun!

Thanks - I do not ever foresee letting it go. He's an old timer that's become a really good friend over the years. I had him sign and date the back of his old business card and keep that in the box with the gun. He's a really good guy.

    Wow what a gift!!

Yes it is - I always tell him it's still his, I'm just holding on to it for him.

This is a really fine revolver. S&W "357 Magnum" from 1953. Yep, that its official name, before it became the model 27 in 1957.

Bought this 30 years ago at the now defunct Schelin (oh no, not another truck through the back wall) Guns in College Park.

First gun I ever bought. Didn't have it for some 25 years, but now, the prodigal son gun has returned.

Yes, it's a Taurus, but its always been a very fine shooter. Swapped out the wood grips for black rubber,

Shout out to pbharvey, and H & C Cooling.

Just got this out of MD's seven day jail...Colt Anaconda in .45 Colt from the '90s.

Here it is with the 4" .45 Colt Anaconda I already had.
    45-Anacondas.jpg

I also have another 6" Anaconda in .45 Colt serving its seven day jail sentence...can't jailbreak it before next week. It might be a couple of weeks before I can pick it up as we'll be on vacation for a while and, depending on when MSP sends me the "Not Disapproved" email I may not be able to pick it up prior to our departure.

While I've never seen a firm number on how many Anacondas were built in .45 Colt, the number I see most often is something like 250 were made.

My wife has a 351c, fun little revolver.

I was a little disappointed in the 351. I had the cylinder lock up once. It may have been from unburnt powder, and obviously the trigger is very heavy.

I saw Atlantic Guns had a used one for around $550 a couple days ago.
