So I am putting the finishing touches on my Traditions Flintlock build. It’s been a fun (most of the time!) project. The final issue I have is that the sights that come with it are looser than I’d like. The dovetails push in and out of the barrel quite easily. How do I snug them up? I don’t think I want anything permanent (superglue). Should I just get some new ones and file them down until I get the desired fit or is there some other technique I can use? Thanks. I’ll post some pictures shortly.

How about taking a center punch and staking the edge of the dovetail to tighten it up
Or maybe, if you have room, drill and tap a hole in the sight and run a setscrew in there to snug it

You can use a center punch under the site or put a few punches on the barrel on the flat underneath the site it will raise spots to hold it in place
