I picked up a Colt New Frontier in .22/.22WMR. Built in ‘74 with an “L” serial.

I’ll be picking up an unfired Diamondback in the next couple of weeks.

I've always loved those grips on the Ruger. Something about the black with the woodgrain just really sets it off.

They really do. I really wanted a 6" blued GP-100 with those grips. It was just never a budget priority.

I've been eyeballing the 2020 Python ever since I read about it in American Rifleman. I was even saving money towards that purchase, but then the election/Covid 19 tomfoolery began and the prices on the Python, when you could find them, were severely jacked up - sometimes more than $500 above full advertised MSRP.

I've started to rethink what I want out of a .357 revolver and I'm wondering if a Ruger GP100 or S&W 686 might be a smarter purchase.

I've read reviews where they do a shootout between all three and from what I've seen, the Ruger, especially if someone has taken the time to have some work done to slick up the internals, stacks up just fine against the others, although the S&W usually comes out on top, edging out the pricier Python.

Yeah, the python prices are bonkers on gunbroker. The GP100 is solid from what I’ve experienced. Smooth pull, crisp break, very accurate

No need for a smith on a GP100 or Sp101. Simple dis/reassembly. Only tool needed is a screwdriver to take off the grip(s).

I have one handgun I will only use a factory grade or heavier mainspring. That is a Redhawk, because of its unique action the force is needed to reliably set off primers when shooting fast double action, even after fitting a longer Bowen firing pin. I have a couple extras because those mainsprings do fatigue.

I was in Top Gun in Fallstln yesterday. They just took in a S&W collection, all had their original blue boxes and were in new or like new shape. For anyone who may be interested
