I was having some trouble running 9mm on my Lock-n-load press. I was dispensing 4.1 of powder but occasionally I would find charges much lower like 3.1g. It happened more frequently when the hopper was lower.

I started tapping on the dispenser and running the press more aggressively. It helped a little. When I searched online I found people buying vibrators and simply taping them to the side of the hopper to keep the powder more compacted. I thought about doing the same thing but decided to come up with something more elegant and 3D print it.

I don’t have time today to do any reloading but did conduct some testing. I loaded the hopper about 20% full and set the metering to 5.7g.

I manually dispensed 10 shots and they weighed 57.6g. Then I dispensed 20 individual shots

    14 at 5.7g
    4 at 5.6g
    1 at 5.8g
    1 at 5.4g

So I think this is an improvement.

I watched your vid, ToolAA. Yeah, I think the buzzing of that vibrator would drive me crazy. Let us know how long it is before you decide to throw your solution up against the wall and smash it into tiny pieces! Better yet, take it to the range and let someone else destroy it for you, right? Seriously, I'm not sure that I could concentrate with that noise. You could try grounding your powder measure and press to see if that helps.

It sounded much louder on my phone when I watched the video than it did in person. Also I’m not one of those people who are bothered by buzzing or clicking noises. I work in a fabrication shop all day.

250 more 9mm 115gr RN plinking ammo. I’ve got enough powder to make about 1000 more of this setup. I’ll have created about 2500 9mm rounds by then. I guess in todays dollars thats about $1000 in savings.

Spent 2.5 hours cranking out blaster grade 223 and 9mm. Total waste of time, but given ammo prices these days, it probably saved me something like $200. I'm shooting in the PNTC 2man 2gun tournament in September, so I need to build up a buffer.

The reverse ejection kit on the Lee Turret is a total game changer for cranking out 223 quickly... not as good as a Dillon, but a damn sight better than trying to crank it out on a normal turret or single-stage.

I’m shooting the same competition. 2 man team event that Friday

I'm doing Thursday. Actually am sleeping at the Hampton in Martinsburg the night before because I wasn't sure I could make the drive from Rockville and still be awake enough to shoot in the morning. :)

Anyways, last night was some 9mm loading and boxing up some previous reloads for use. My case feed adapter is getting a little sticky, so I think I need to clean it... not sure how to do that. Hot water and soap, I suppose.

Cleaned, lubed, sized, put back in the tumbler (to remove lube) a little over 100 .350 Legend cases.

I sure wish my youngest son would at least ATTEMPT to show an interest in how to load his own ammo.

He's old enough to learn, so that I can continue doing what "I" want to do, since my retirement.

That’s not a bad idea. The only thing I wasn’t looking forward to was the 7am safety brief followed immediately by the start of competition.
Maybe I’ll look into that as well. I’d have to leave at 5 am to get there by 6:45.

Never take a long drive to a competition. Driving is stressful, today even more so then when I was shooting competitively. Get a hotel room, relax and have a light breakfast in the morning. No coffee or RED BULL if you are precision shooting. ;)

My wife always came with me and sometimes we would make it a three day weekend and do some sightseeing in the area where the shoot is being held.

    Great advice.

Except I have two toddlers and a wife who barely tolerates my absence for expensive hobbies. I leave at the last minute possible to make most matches. Guzzle coffee by the gallon, and run away the minute we tear down.

It's actually worse than that for 2man; you've got to check in at the PNTC clubhouse FIRST at 6AM and then hoof it to Frontier range by 7AM for the safety brief. I don't know what sociopath came up with these times, but it's crazy.
