That pistol had work done by Joe Chambers. Aftermarket trigger fit, disconnector groove in the slide’s cocking rail, and flush cut/rebated muzzle. I don’t know if the pistol was dropped subsequent to the work being performed but the action had a notchy feel in it at the beginning of the pull. I don’t know if the pistol was dropped or what. Inspection revealed an impression in the sear engagement surface from the hammer hook. I reworked the action for a correct pull and hammer drops at 3.6 pounds. The hammer also stays put under one hand empty slide drop. Test only, not a habit.

I am not sure what make trigger that is, 10-8 maybe, but it is not a lightweight Wilson, trigger bow reveals that.

The trigger was excellently fitted. I never cared for flat triggers until I used one in the 10 I built. They do allow same pull if you place your finger a little differently. Not a fan of them but not excluding them either. The trigger pull now is very good. I redid it as I mentioned. The sear angle was a little too negative along with the indent in it. Plus it was only engaging one hammer hook, so I had to true the hammer as well.

The other work done on the action components was well done. I had no issue following up on this smith’s work. All the parts are electric pencil etched with the last three digits of the serial number so you can see Springers CS work. From SA the barrel stands on the link. That is a no-no on the TRP so I might give them a call. I stood it up a little more after making the proper measurements and selecting the right link. All the barrel timing tests check out. I don’t get why the over travel lug on the grip safety wasn’t adjusted but gives me things to ponder.

I am leaving to shoot it now.

Here’s the results of the TRP Operator range test. Right away this pistol was shooting pair and triples easily. Getting used to the pistol I like the way it handled. Tracking from shot to shot was good. I didn’t run it alot because of ammo and reloading component supplies..maingy scalpers...but could tell in the small amount I did its a shooter. Took me a bit to get sights where I wanted them. I didn’t think the sight adjusting screws ever saw oil.

25 yards, 6:00 hold, standing. Aguila 230 ball, pretty decent blasting grade ammo. The first pic is a five round group, first two rounds I called..huntin’ groundhogs I guess. That hole just touching the black at 7:00 was a previous group, you can see the black paste on just covering the top of the hole. Then another six rounds after I clicked the sights up two and right two. I red ringed the actual shots in that group. This pistol is quickly finding its way to a favorite status.

looks like your getting "dialed in" with it and for the ammo being used. throw some zero 185's JHP's or some 68's at it. Getting components sucks right now.
how's that trigger? seems not to hamper your shooting. I don't know if it's because it's square and no bevel, but hey if it shoots, it's all good.
    Mag....Nice shooting BTW and it's a keeper...

Truth be told, the corners are defanged on this one and but the face is FLAT. I have issues with this one. Don’t care for it much.
If you want to try one, try the Wilson in the length you prefer. The face is rounded and the feel is quite nice even though it is a culture shock at fist.
