New to the Forum here. I'm getting back into shooting after about 20 years off. I had to get out of shooting when I started a family. I probably had around 20 guns and had to sell all but two of them because I needed the money.

Fast forward to today and we just paid the last college tuition bill last month for the youngest kid. No kids now so I have the time and money to get back into the hobby.

Unfortunately, it looks like a bad time to do that! I had a few boxes of ammo left over and was kind of shocked on what we have to pay for ammo now. I have a box of Winchester 12 gauge, #8 shot with a price tag on it of $3.96. Oh well, this too shall pass.

Fortunately, I'm going to get back into sporting clays first and it seems that higher-end O/U's are available at "normal" prices. I'm heading up to Joel Etchen's in PA next week to buy a new shotgun. I was also able to score a good deal on a stainless Ruger Super Single Six...it seems the masses are not so interested in SA revolvers. The pawn shop guy said the gun had been sitting there a month and I was the first to look at it.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone on this board. You've already been very helpful.

    Welcome from Davidsonville.

You're making a good move going to Joel Ethen's they have probably the best selection on the East Coast and they have reasonable prices.
