I'm considering the Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 for my 300BLK deer rifle. Not trying to cheap out, but I don't want to spend more than 175 for a scope in the 3x9 range that I might give to my dad, if he wants a 300BLK or wants to put it on his bolt, if I decide to upgrade. Also the Crossfire II for 150 bucks isn't a bad deal for something that might see some hard use during deer season.

Anybody have any experience with them? Good or bad firsthand accounts will be helpful in me making the decision.

It's just another Chinese scope with good QA. Take a look at Primary Arms, too, I personally like the ACSS reticle a lot, too.

Considering the purpose of the bambi whacker, good old center-point 2x7 will fill the bill - and for less $$, with a more generous eye relief.

Before anyone says they won't hold up, I've been running one on a 16.5" .50Beo for over a year now, and it holds zero. It's a Chinese scope, but it's a resilient little bastard.

I have that exact same scope and I for one love it. It is a Vortex, which means you won't have to worry about anything happening to it. Vortex has a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. The glass is better than the Nikon I used to have. I highly recommend it.
