Revisiting the whole Steel Vs Ceramic debate. Who has seen the new AR550 plates from the target man? Videos show it stoping m193 and m855 at less then 25yds with 20" barrels. I'm still looking for some affordable plates and these seem to fit the bill now. Under $300 for a pair of III+ plates. Their antispall coating is pretty well proven too.

I vote Ceramic if you can afford it AND take extra special care of it. If not, and just want some tough kit you can toss in the truck, then I say Steel all the way. AR500.com's plates have some proven coating as well and come in different shooters cuts and curves.

I got ar550 ATC plates from targetman. But, I ordered ar500. They errored in packing them. They are heavy, but it worth extra protection. He had a 10% off discount code from militaryarmchannel video a couple of weeks ago. I think they also had a 15% off code last weekend.
