I’m new to Maryland...on the eastern shore. Does anyone still reload for shotguns? Where can you find 25 pound bags of lead shot and how much do you expect to pay?

Hmmm, I’m clueless as to the Eastern Shore but, PG Skeet and Trap in Glenn Dale used to have crates of it on the floor, sepated by shot size ...10400 Good Luck Road Glenn Dale, MD 20769. (301) 577-7178

‘‘Twas always worth it to me to drive up to Shydas in Lebanon, PA and buy shot (as well as every other possible need) in major bulk though ..http://www.shydasoutdoorcenter.com

It would help if you narrow down where on the shore....long and narrow and a big difference in travel if your in Salisbury, Denton, or Chestertown!!! :innocent0

I find it for sale on craiglist from time to time. Bass pro in Anne Arrundel has it. Lastly, I find a sale on bullistic products with free shipping and have it shipped.

It can be bought in the parking lot of Oxford Gun Club (and very likely Kent Co Gun Club and Suddlerville if you get in touch with the right guys). There are 100% full time re-loaders (never shoot factory loads) at each of these clubs.

Where are you, Bum-ef or up by Galena way?

We had $40K dollars worth picked up at Oxford back about 4 years ago. Had to battle with the re claimer including sicking at Philadelphia lawyer on them to get paid, he totally stiffed Atglen for their cut of the lead, since he hadn't really picked up much before he left in the middle of the night they just licked their wounds and gave up on having it done.

I used to sit out there in the afternoons and watch them fill smaller "super sacks" and load them up. You wanna talk about total turf destruction? Place looked like the Sahara when they were through, not a single silt fence,... nothing.

Anywho,.... shit load of reclaim. We have a few sections where the shot channels into little prominent rows as the surface water moves it.

PG: $40 per bag includes tax
Shydas: $33 - $34 cash per bag not including tax
Below is a screenshot of Shyda’s website showing their prices of shot. You can save another $1.00 by buying 10 bags or more. Also note that they charge more for credit card use.

If I wasn't shooting only 28ga, I wouldn't be reloading for 12 and 20's as the flat prices are low these days and, even the promotional ammo shoots well for standard trap and skeet and sporting clays.

$39.88 for a flat of Herter's 1 1/8th oz. target loads at Cabelas.

I could never get the math to work for shotshell reloading.

Especially if you shoot something that you can sell the hulls.

    11 cents per for shot ($40 for 25 pounds, 1 1/8 loads)

    4 cents for primer.

    3 cents for wad.

    8 cents for powder

26 cents per round or $6.50 per box.

And something like Win AA, the empties are worth 4 - 5 cents each, for another $1 - $1.25 per box.
