Can I use normal hoppes gun oil as case lube? I accidentally got cast bullet lube instead of case lube.

Don’t use petroleum based lubes as case lube.

If you want DIY lube, but want to skip the dissolving and spraying, you can just rub a very, very thin layer of lanolin on the case with your finger.

    Cases love you, long time!

NO! You will stick a case in the die with regular oil. If you go to Home Depot and buy cable lubricant, you can mix it with alcohol and make your own. The lube is alcohol soluble and I thin it down until it will spray from a spray bottle. It works like a champ.

I have heard of this being used successfully also. Just never needed to give it a go.

Just buy the Dillons or Frankford Arsenal's spray and be done with it.

You could use motor or gear oil.

Old school lube was similar to STP. You squirted some on a cloth pad in a metal box with a cover. You would roll 3 - 5 cases over it. And lube them and your hand. :)

I loaded a good bit of .223 with this setup. The lube and pad came with my reloading kit.
