Went for a walk up the driveway with my wife and eldest daughter. I was looking for them but I guess the old eyes ain’t what they used to be. Anyway they spotted them when I walked right passed them. Our driveway is about 1/4 mile long back through the woods.

How do you cook those? Just fry 'em up in some butter, maybe roll them in cornmeal first?

I like those little button mushrooms rolled in corn meal and then fried up. Eat them with toothpicks (I don't eat the toothpick though) :)

I can spot a shed antler in a green field at 350 yards. I can't find a morel even if I trip over it.

Wild mushrooms scare the bejesus out of me. I know if I went morel hunting, I'd pick the wrong ones and kill myself. :whack:

This is exactly how I feel about it, hahaha. I love mushrooms, and love tramping through the woods, but pretty sure with my luck I'd pick something that looks like a morel and end up in the news as a cautionary tale for other would-be mushroom hunters.

My boy and I found 45 black mushrooms today in eastern Washington county. They are coming. Next week should be really good just about anywhere in MD.

It's no gold strike. But found my first few today. Found one checking a few dead standing next to a tree stand to see how to bring them down safely. Took a knee and there was one, finally after weeks of looking. Grabbed it and walked into the house and showed the wife like a giddy school kid. Went back out and found a few more, hooked, next to try cooking them!

I took a break from roundup duty on all the spring poison and invasive growth to look for about ten min. Not a one. I don't even eat em but we were covered on the property last year. Must've picked at least a 5 gal buckets worth and gave em away.

Nothing in my AO yet. Looked on Saturday, but the elevation of my property ranges from 2500' to 3500', so it is probably still a little early considering we are still getting sub-freezing temps at night.
