This is great information! Your experience is very impressive. First time I hear of the “1fpe per pound of body weight” rule. I like it - it’s simple and easy to remember. Thank you!

    Thanks!

And that's for a heart/lung shot. It would go way down if you are planning on a head shot, but the the odds of missing or wounding go up so this is the standard I use. I can't find it anymore, but years ago I saw a youtube video of a guy in Brazil, I believe, kill a 6pt buck with a Cricket .25. He shot it at 75yds, and it almost acted like it wasn't hit. (just like it was spooked) A few seconds later it did the "wobble" and fell over dead, right in scope view. Perfect heart shot. The video then went thru the day with the whole family participating in the butchering/processing of the whole deer.
A few years ago VA actually allowed harvesting deer with a .25. Guys were using the Sumatra putting out between 70-100fpe.

If you have any questions about a certain gun just fire away, pun intended.

Set up the small set of swinging targets today with a walkway stone behind it...shooting from my patio with 3-5 pumps and it's dang quiet...I'm anxiously awaiting the stock to arrive, but man, it's fun to plink in the backyard. The little .177s flatten right out and don't ricochet. My 22s have little too much oomph sometimes off the the swingers for backyard plinking...I general use a pellet trap, but they hit that pretty hard. For now though, I think I have the perfect (for me) backyard shooter.

I use a pellet trap so I can make bullets and sinkers with the reclaimed pellets. :party29:

It all depends on the size of the dot. If you have an 8MOA dot, it is pretty large about 2 inches at 25 yards. If you have a 2MOA dot, then at 25 yards you only have a 1/2 inch dot.
Got a chance to shoot my buddy's crosman with the pinty 2moa red dot....yep...tiny dot, and pretty impressive for it's price. For the pistol, it seems like a good match.

Got the barrel adapter from Maverick Air Guns today....for whatever reason...it needed a little love. Had to use a tap and die kit to ream out the threads....it's on now. I really didn't want to send it back to CA and wait....The little gun isn't super powerful, but it is fun, and quiet. Not sure if I will mess with the valves or piston to get more oomph out of it....right now, I'm content....

I’ve seen a few where the pump is removed and a bottle is put in its place. I’ve been toying with the idea but have too many projects in the pipeline

Was looking at the Crosman website and was amazed to see this many shipping limitations. Jersey needs a “Airgun permit”? At least Marylinistan isn’t that bad....yet.

The stock tightened the group up....using my cabinet as a brace while standing. Kitchen through the garage "range" while I was waiting for the catfish to finish smoking....brined with Calvert Golden Lager and brushed with teriyaki....nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon....

Jersey, are you that surprised they don’t allow you to pump gas, owning an air rifle forget about. I don’t know the actual laws but have heard they have restrictions in place.

    Where they send me.
I haven't modded mine yet but am thinking about a scope mount for it. Forget the maker of it. Held off as you have to take the thing apart to put it on and I wasn't that sure I was into it yet, nor that it was accurate enough for the cost and hassle. I could use an air pistol with a dot on it to help my training and of the ones I have that one does seem the best option if I like it enough.

It is super easy to take apart....lots of youtube videos that cover it step by step.

Not bad. Have you tried the Premier pellets? I get better accuracy with them than the Destroyer's.

    Catfish looks good too!
I have large tin that I haven't opened yet....they are crosman 7.9 grains...I forgot the name....once I'm through this current tin, I will move to those and re zero....

....and I'm back to the 1377...because like most on here...can't help ourselves. I've been shooting it with a stock barrel, threaded adapter and a 3D printer moderator. Super indoor friendly. I have an 18 inch barrel and the slip on threaded end, and a newer scope enroute. Lots of forums say to expect a 10 fps per inch of barrel length. I will find out. My buddy and I both have these...when we get together to fish, we generally will pull these out and have a little friendly shooting competition. I can shoot a fairly decent group already with it....I'm curious to see if it improves or gets worse with the longer barrel.

Internally, I have only softened the trigger spring. Everything else is stock.
