Does that take off the lead as well or just the carbon?

Simple green doesn't chemically dissolve the lead, but breaks up and dissolves everything else including fouling the lead adheres to, so easier and less toxic to deal with. Can shoot brick after brick, and this method knocks fouling down to "almost clean" in 30min with all of 5 min of work. CLR I belive does dissolve lead to a degree like the dip due to it's acidic content, so more toxic, need gloves etc. Using it for a 30min- 1 hour in the ultrasonic does leave loose flecks of lead in the bag where the dip just dissolves them into goo, so don't think it converts it all to lead acetate like the dip.

For a very versatile can, I’m really pleased with the Silencerco Switchback. In “optimized “ configuration allegedly gets down to 107, while medium works really well for pistol and can be an effective shorty so my Papoose will still fit in the case (maybe worthless on my Bobcat, is cute as a button ; ) and most importantly looks good on stainless guns

some comparisons, 1hr @ 140 degrees in an $80 Amazon 3L ultrasonic. 0 elbow grease other than dissasembly. Sometimes flakes of leak are still on 22 baffles, but they aren't bonded, fall right off or can just push it off with a toothpic.

dirty, about 1K rounds through a mask and Oculus

1 HR in simplegreen/water, my usual "maintenence clean" about every 1K rounds when I clean threads and check for damage.

older pic how they look with an hour in CLR with 9mm baffles from an Optimus. basically same spotless results as the dip, but in an hour, and should be less toxic. Doesn't really need to be this clean, but it is nice to know you can get them back to factory clean, or even clean out a rifle can with CLR by capping the end and filling it, letting it soak for a few hours, then dump the goo and flush with water, and shoot. Don't want to use coated stuff like outer tubes in an ultrasonic, it will eventually damage the finish, rifle cans usually don't get fouled before it breaks up and flies out, but poly/cast 300BO bullets or really really dirty ammo can build up a little.

    Heads update!

Thank you to everyone who has replied to this thread! Just wanted to give everyone an update. I went to Engage Armament in Rockville today and got everything started for getting my suppressor: tax stamp paid for, application with finger prints/phot id, and bought and paid for Dead Air Mask 22lr suppressor! Now everything sits in jail for 9months to a year? Thank you again for all your help!

Congrats and great choice . Now sit back and about 3-4 months into the wait drop another one in so they will start coming out one after another.

COACH1106, Thank you! Yes, I'll have to give some thought for 223rem suppressor for my bolt action rifle. The Banish 223 or Thunder Beast 223rem Ultra 7 are two that I have looked at so far! ;)

I'm looking at two ruger 22lr pistols that I could also share the Dead Air Mask silencer with. Ruger Mk IV Target or 22/45 Target. I'm picking these due to their ambi controls for me as southpaw. Which of these two would you recommend for use with suppressor? I've google issues with their 22/45 lite with suppressor so I'm hesitant about this model. Thanks for your feedback!

Well, I let fate decide which Ruger 22lr pistol I would get as I signed up for email notices at several vendors. Got the Mark IV Target Stainless 5.5" thread barrel model. Had them send it to Engagement Armament.

90% of the issues with the 22/45 lite running suppressed is people that don't take off the wave washer that helps secure the thread protector. Mine has been flat out flawless for several thousand suppressed rounds theough my Oculus and Mask.

alucard0822 and teratos, Thank you for your feedback. My wife wants the Ruger 22/45 Lite but has not gotten any notices yet from any of the vendors she signed up to. BTW, she wants the gold colored one!

They are one of the best hangun hosts you can ask for, the light weight makes them balance really well. Out of the box, the heavy trigger (for a target pistol), and mag block safety were the only gripes, a VQ target trigger kit fixed both. The design is epic, really comfortable and easy to shoot, extremely accurate, pretty quiet with the can too.

    alucard0822,

What red dot scope do you have on your Ruger 22/45 lite? Do you like it? I might have to add it to the X-mas list :)

What suppressors do you have on your two 22lr?
