Yesterday morning (about 9:45), we drove by a horrendous crash on I-97N, between the MD32 split and the MD3 merge.

Two ambulances went screaming north, and there were easily 2 dozen assorted PD and FD vehicles on scene. It appeared to involve a small sedan (hard to say for sure since it was basically a ball of foil), a tanker, and who-knows-what else.

Even with shunting the NB traffic on to MD32, there was a multiple mile backup. But, we're not finding any details. If there were no fatalities, it would be a miracle.

Interstate Rescue Assignment would be double a normal response as units are dispatched from both directions. So two Engines, two "Rescue" units (could be a Ladder, Tower, Squad), two Battalion Chiefs, an EMS Officer, and the Safety Officer.

    Prayers up for all involved.
