Just watch the latest video from GunSam , Revolver Man , and he's testing this , and comparing to pocket .22lr .

Didn't even finish the video yet , and I'm already very interested about the rifle .

    .30 cal , Break bbl . 44gr pellets @ 520 fps , +/- 7 inch penetration in bare Clear gel .

Yeah , yeah , the PCP Big Bores are where it's at for serious power , but those are a quantum leap in $$$ over this @ $200- ish .

Is this , or something similar the upper limit of practical break bbl format ?

And to answer my own questions , after further research :

Amongst Air Rifle Afficanados , the majority opinion is these suck , because the trajectory is too rainbow like to easily snipe starlings at 50- 75 yards . Minority of reviewers are impressed with short range power , and large wound channels .

Hatsan uses the same " power plant" for multiple calibers , starting at .177 . And yes , this is at the upper end of spring piston guns .

From various reviews , the .30 cal seems better recieved from firearms guys who occasionally dabble with air , than with dedicated Airgun Hunters .
