    Fun factoid:

    Maryland ranks 45th lowest in the nation on the Cato Institute 2021 list of freest states (in terms of personal and economic freedom). You can guess the states that are 46-50.

    The only way to drive Maryland out of this mess is to make the current voters uncomfortable. Crime makes people uncomfortable. If it keeps spreading, you might see a change. Economic failure makes people uncomfortable. Problem is, gov't jobs keep people comfortable in their communism. O'Malley finally met the boundary of Marylanders' comfort with over 42 new taxes and fees, which gave us Hogan. It seems that people are already forgetting this lesson though.

    OK, DC is officially a third world sh1thole. This prolly includes the burbs too. Local ABC News affiliate confirms and provides safe travel procedures.

    Did you happen to see Steven Crowders segment on the election? Where he basically picked some questionable looking voters registrations and sent someone to the address with a camera to show the place didn't even exist.

    Sure he's just a comedian, and it was only a handful of addresses. But, can we really find fraud if no one is really even looking for it? His videos on that stuff all got taken down from youtube. It's probably still out there just going to be hard to find.

    It was pretty interesting, clearly there are some issues and we'll never really know the scale because we're not supposed to. It shouldn't fall on some comedian to uncover, but the media is in the bag for big government. So here we are.

    It was more than a handful, and it was all over the Las Vegas Metro area. I remember...

    And I also have no idea how to fix this mess except to wake the proles up with riots, rampant crime, etc. They won't forsake their beer and circuses until it happens on their street. That's about the only time when the ropes and torches will come out.

    Voting on the redistricting maps now commences for the House Rules Committee on the continuing livestream.

    Voting scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM.

    Update: Voting completed; the Democrappers corrupt redistricting map (HB1) was approved by an 18 - 6 (one excused) vote, all Republicans voted no.

    No vote taken on the GOOD (“Citizen’s”) map(HB2) because the BAD map passed.

    Color me totally amazed.

    Andy Harris in his interview earlier said there may be a final vote on a map later tonight, this was just the Committee vote.

    Andy said there were 3 - 4 other map choices that could still receive the final approval, each likely to be the subject of a lawsuit that could reach Maryland’s highest court.

    SCOTUS won’t touch Maryland’s steaming pile.

    As much as I dislike having to agree with Dread Chief Justice Roberts, he is correct in the SCOTUS opinion. It belongs at the State level.
    “Excessive partisanship in districting leads to results that reasonably seem unjust,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote . “But the fact that such gerrymandering is ‘incompatible with democratic principles’ ... does not mean that the solution lies with the federal judiciary. We conclude that partisan gerrymandering claims present political questions beyond the reach of the federal courts.”

    The Maryland case concerned complaints Republicans were disadvantaged through partisan gerrymandering; while the North Carolina case made a similar allegation on behalf of Democrats.
    That said, I am still cheesed that the Governor's gerrymandering committee was tainted by two individuals who turned out to be ineligible. Rather than invalidating their work, the committee just forged ahead after they resigned. Boonch of crap, that was. Pissed me off because I threw my hat into the ring to be on the committee and was not selected over the ineligible clowns. That's when I knew the fix was in.

    Besides, the Maryland General Assembly rules with an iron fist inside a cactus glove. They're never going to relinquish power.

    Remember that audits found evidence of voter fraud in MD and other super-dem states.

    During the Obama election, MD was considered the most blue state in the union, with 70 percent of the population voting for him. You'd think with a name like Murderland, they would want the right to protect themselves. Apparently they think the police are like Jesus, and can show up out of thin air right when you need them.

    *****And make it free, and have the buses outfitted with lockers for the "workers" to store their "tools" like crowbars, hammers, drills, and angle grinders so they can get to work and not have to worry about lugging their tools with them back home, after a hard days work... :innocent0

Not defending partisan gerrymanders here or elsewhere, but those genuinely concerned about how this might impinge fair, representative democracy—which is a reasonable concern—should probably also be concerned about partisan gerrymandering going on in places like Texas.

    I called the disenfranchisement of the eastern shore 8 years ago after western Maryland was disenfranchised. Some people that I talked with said that Maryland wouldn't have the balls to claim parts of the western shore were suddenly on the eastern shore, but here it it. The only difference is that I was predicting the Baltimore city would somehow as if my magic would become part of the eastern shore. The time is past for Western Maryland and the shore to secede from the rest of this ********...

    ...I so wish that my prediction was wrong!!

    For those who naively think that “surely, they will not push it too far — Dems still have respect for bipartisanship and will stop soon”, look no further than CA. A formerly sane, even Red-leaning state, that elected Reagan, overwhelmingly voted against benefits for illegals and against gay marriage, turned into a forever one-party state within a decade.
    Sadly MD might be following CA’s roadmap.

    No, MD will not go Red in our lifetimes, BUT...

    There is a yuge Red Wave coming in the Mid-Terms. The fact that little MD will not go Red is of little consequence. People and parents around the country are fed up. The Progs will continue pushing the envelope until made to stop. Well, they've really Poked the Bear.

    The VA elections are indeed a bellwether of things to come.

Not defending partisan gerrymanders here or elsewhere, but those genuinely concerned about how this might impinge fair, representative democracy—which is a reasonable concern—should probably also be concerned about partisan gerrymandering going on in places like Texas.

    The right has to play the game by the same set of rules the left plays by. Otherwise we are nothing but morally and ethically superior losers. And as we go, so goes the country.

    Really, now, Republicans shamelessly do it in Republican states, Democrats aren’t supposed do it here? One standard for all, please.

    MD Dems gerrymandered the last Congressional District map so that the 66% of MD Dem voters control 88% of the Maryland Congressional Delegation (7 of 8 seats). Andy Harris is the only Republican.

    NOW THEY WANT 100% OF THE SEATS.
