so, I have these in the one I'm building now.
    https://www.badgerridgeind.com/store/p28/FormedDcellStainless.html

I'm wondering if I should just drill 2 holes on the sides or put the circular notch (half moon)

Just not sure what tool I'm going to use. I don't have a mill, just dremel and drill press

    Drilling holes like this

This looks like a different way to do it.

I'd 3d print (or machine) a guide for these using something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NQR0SQU

I wouldn't mind helping you out by making a jig and doing the marking if you're local (whiskey gratuity is always welcome ;) ). (I'm an FFL-07/SOT and have a laser so I can do the marking but can't do the baffles / end caps and keep it on your form1)

Here is a quick mock-up in SolidWorks of the center hole jig. A clipping jig would just have an off-center or slanted hole.

    basically half moons.

is there any sort of notch to make sure these are in line?

the most popular approach is some version of a dowel and superglue or rocksett, not machining a notch.

Once they are aligned, a little superglue will hold them, then carbon lock will keep them in place.

So, as mentioned I don't have an end mill and I have this one plus an 2nd form1 one I have yet to start.
Those freeze plug baffles have the outside edge sticking up as high as the top of the cone.

I guess I'll drill out and think about taking a spare plug and using a dremel to create a half moon.

Rusty is the baffles guru you seek.

Excellent! I can make that work. Thanks
Anyone know if the endmill that came with a Poly 80 G17/19 kit will work on a stainless freeze plug?

Unless you have the rigidity of a mill, you may have a lot of chatter. It should work, though. Small bites.

    Well
I realized I had a cheap XY table and made a wood jig and bolted it to the table.

Next to try to drill and clip one baffle

So many of the badger industries baffles were poorly centered I put them aside and sprung for better ones
The top flat is .33” and from the inside is .5”
I need to open these up for 9mm/350L
I don’t have a lathe or milk, just an XY table and drill press
Ideas? Do I drill from inside or top and do I start smaller and work up? Should I get a tapered reamer ?
