    Hi All,

I am looking to get a shotgun for home protection. Any suggestions on where I can buy one at a reasonable price. Last time I bought a shotgun it was from Wallies for around $200. I suspect I will need to go somewhere else and pay more.

    I live in Central Maryland.

    Thanks shooters,
    Eric

    Define "Central Maryland".

Hafer’s Gunsmithing in Hagerstown. They also have a second shop about 15 minutes away in WV.

That's a very long drive from anything I would call 'central maryland'.

I would say I'm on the western edge of anything 'central' and it's over 135 miles from home to Hafer's and back.

I was in United in Rockville last week and they had a Maverick 88 with extended mag tube on the wall for something like $229 or $238 or something like that. I don't personally have one but Reeve from TFB TV (my favorite douchey guy on YT because he'll admit he's a sorta douchey guy) did a break it test on one a couple of months ago and it passed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9OL7IquoIo

Scott's Gunsmithing in Glen Burnie usually has a Stevens 320 in stock. The one without sights is about 3 bills and the one with Ghost type sights about 50 more. Haven't seen the ones without sights for a few weeks, but they may be able to be ordered.

I think this is a great choice and price. I bought a maverick 88 with a pistol grip folding stock for $345 in 2020. Reliable with buck shots and slugs. With that price, I might have to take a trip to United soon.
