    Hello,
I'm new to Maryland. I own a shotgun and found another Maryland resident who wants to buy it. Is a person to person transfer legal? What paperwork do I need or does this need to happen at a local gun shop? Thanks in advance.

I always make a bill of sale serial number, and a copy of drivers license, just in case a firearm turns up somewhere it shouldn't. You can prove you were not the owner. You do not have to, though. You can not sell it to them if you have reason to believe they are a prohibited person.
