Capitol re-opened on the 30th, as promised, but it seems that they may have rushed it a bit. They were overwhelmed with the amount of people (mostly spectators) and according to FB, MSP actually had to shut down the massive line of cars waiting to get in. Supposedly, there was a 3 mile long back up, with people waiting hours to get in...
Also heard, read, that they weren't really prepared for oildowns (taking way too long for cleanups), and were very disorganized.
They cancelled the race that they had advertised/planned for the next day, and promised to get their S together before re-opening. I think the goal was August 14th.
Haven't really seen or heard anything lately regarding 75-80....
As for Cecil, the new surface is GREAT! I went Saturday and although had some minor issues with boost control, still made a handful of passes on the smooth, sticky new track.
Pic is of CAPITOL on Friday night...Good to see it open, no doubt. I'm sure the growing pains will be taken care of and smoothed out...
