Based on the NRA First Steps Pistol Course, we've added an extra hour to meet the Maryland specific requirements for the Handgun Qualification License (HQL) training. This training will take at least 4-hours to complete.
Cost: $149.00
Our Instructors are Maryland Handgun Qualification Instructor License (HQIL) or Certified (HQIC) approved by the Maryland State Police.
This course is not meant to teach you how to shoot. It is a basic handgun familiarization and orientation course that meets the minimum requirements to buy a regulated handgun in Maryland. Having said that, at the end of this course you will know the basic fundamentals of how to safely save your live with a handgun and more importantly what questions to ask with regard to more advanced training and what to look for in a training course and in an instructor.
This course also meets the statutory training requirements for both Virginia and Florida Non-resident concealed carry permits. If you have a desire to apply for these permits, we have application packets available which you can use to apply for either or both states, provide 2"x2" passport style photos and we can notarize your applications for a small additional fee.
