An Ohio judge managed to defend himself long enough with his own handgun for a probation officer to assist and stop an armed attacker. The judge (maybe using a Judge?) fired 5 shots at the gunman and is currently in stable condition in a hospital. The gunman lost his life after being engaged by the probation officer. Score one for the good guys.

But, but, but ... the ladies who walked from the NRA HQ to the DoJ said that I needed psychiatric treatment if I thought I needed to have a firearm for self-protection. "Nobody needs to have a gun !!!"

    Uh huh.

Man shot and killed was the father of a young man found guilty of rape. I'm sure there's more to this story.

My great-great grandfather was a Common Pleas Court Judge in Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired in 1908. I have his old Harrington & Richardson five shot .38 S&W. that he wore under his robes.

Not exactly judge related, but at a church that I used to attend, many years ago they had a preacher who carried in the pulpit. I guess that might have kept people from nodding off.
