    Yes.
I think the study shows that making access to weapons difficult tends to protect children and the mentally unstable from harm.
However, I also believe the study reinforces that no criminal behavior is unchanged by laws.

Summary: they compiled an open source database of gun laws going back to 1979 and determined that there is scant evidence any of them actually work.

They work very well for their intended purpose, which is to get the politicians grandstanding for them re-elected. Only major exception was 1994.

The Rand Corporation has its roots in the Military but has grown to a Global Corporation. Here is some background:

On the plus side the study has extensive background information available along with analysis and explanation. Be sure to check the Analysis page and click on the boxes for additional information.

In addition the Bibliography is probably the most comprehensive list you will find.

Almost certainly there is specific information in this report that supports our side and it can be cherry picked and quoted to support our side in the same manner that the antis love to quote things out of context.

In the original report be sure to take part in the survey, scroll down on the left green background. It is only four questions long.

    RAND Study Necro-revival

Open Source Defense just published a nice summary of an article recently published in Reason Magazine that provides an excellent analysis of the RAND Study and so-called scientific gun control studies writ large. Embedded in the article is a 16 minute video that captures the essence of the analysis as well. Worth your time-- enjoy

This info would best be used by sending to politicians, anti gunners and fence-sitters. Just preaching to the choir here.
