It is described as a heavy barrel. So one would think its GTG. However the description does not match the manufacturers website in some details like the magazine and handguard.

I wish they had that one for 800 $

To be honest I think these are an old model that is being cleared out for new model Hbars from FN with the sexy new handguards . It's not on FN website this specific model.

Most websites have listed it as sold out and theres no longer a link on Buds.

The handguard looks like a standard (but sexy) $125 Midwest Industries handguard. I have it on another rifle. Actually 1 rifle and 1 pistol. In fact, when I look at FN website, I swear I see the Midwest logo on the handguard.

800+$125 is still less than $1100, or even $1400.

    ETA FN website says:
Midwest industry rail 12” with M-LOK™

indeed. and you can find them here for $125-200 https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/category-s/342.htm

educated guess, its this one, $180: https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/product-p/mi-g3m12-blk.htm

He'd have to deal with the front sight too. Not a lot of money if he chooses to modify it, but something to deal with nonetheless.

That don’t mean chit, need to see under the handguard. Take the Colt 6920 SOCOM as a md legal example of an HBAR with M4 cut

That’s what I thought, too... but if you check the MSP web site, it looks like somebody asked for a review and on 2/28/2018 the MSP decided that even though the Colt LE6920 SOCOM is (presumably) an HBAR, it’s now banned as a copy... unless I’m somehow reading that wrong.

    http://mdsp.maryland.gov/Organization/Pages/CriminalInvestigationBureau/LicensingDivision/Firearms/

Yet, even though the FN-15 1776 model is *not* advertised as an HBAR:

    https://fnamerica.com/products/discontinued-products/fn-15-1776/

...and the FN-15 Carbine is, the same MSP website indicates that the 1776 is *not* banned.

So now... I don’t know what to think about this HBAR business. Is there some other reason why the Colt LE6920 SOCOM would be banned? Is it possible that there is a non-HBAR version of the LE6920 SOCOM?

Colt LE6920 is not hbar. SOCOM profile barrel is not HBAR.

the colt 6721 is the hbar model I think.

I know that there has been about a million discussions of this HBAR business in the past 5 years, so I do to want to start yet another diacussion on that. I guess the bottom line is that if this is advertised as a heavy barrel by the manufacturer, it must be OK. I guess I’m getting the LE6920 SOCOM and the M4A1 SOCOM barrel configurations confused. I’m pretty sure at this point that the M4A1 SOCOM is HBAR. I think. <shrug>

MSP and MSP websites are both wrong in many instances. The idea that stampings or advertisement is what determines an HBAR is retarded.

A heavy barrel in maryland needs to be at least 1.75 oz per inch (28 oz for a 16" barrel) and .75 in at the gas block.

there is no physical description of what a heavy barrel is in md other that being marked hbar or being described as an hbar by the manufacturer.
