It's probably the check valve in your fill. Remove the fill cover and pace a small balloon over the foster. If it fills up it's leaking there. You can also put a couple drops of liquid soap in a glass of water and mix it up. Dab a bit on the fitting and look for bubbles.
Easy fix. Degas, remove the poster fitting and replace the oring.

Is it really as simple as just degassing and unscrewing the foster? Anything else I need before trying it? Any teflon for the threads, loctite? As for the oring, is it one that I can match at the Lowes? I apologize for the list of questions. I do not want to take it apart and then realize I need more parts or hard to find items...I just checked the balloon, it does appear to have some air in it. The pressure gauge has lost maybe 200lbs...hard for these eyes to see those tiny marks...but it is below the 2K I pumped it to this morning. I could ignore it, pump it...shoot it...but something tells me, this situation will not improve. :) Airgun depot provided me with the tech support email, but if I can fix it myself, I'd rather not mail it in and wait, since it is out of warranty. I read a couple of other forums where others have described the same issue...just leaks down to 1k and then sits static.

You will need teflon tape to put the foster back in.
I think most foster fills use a -006 oring. They may have them, may not. I do know that the Danco orings that lowes and HD carry do not use the same numbering system.
If you were up my way I'd do it for ya.

Thank you. I will do some searching...should be easy enough...I will see if the tech support will give me a definite answer on size. Much appreciated.

A little searching and it looks like you are correct. 006 size. Various "durometer" options, 70,90...etc. I've emailed the techs...see if they have a specific brand or recommendation.

I think most of the paintball folks use poly. I've got some in 70 buna and 90 buna (I think). One of my oring boxes fell off shelf and now I have a big pile of orings.
If you PM my your address I can put a coupe in an envelope and mail to ya. If they tell you a different size I likely have them too. Just let me know.

Much appreciated Sir. Let's see if they get back to me...in the mean time, I will get some shots in before Degrassing...

Not sure if it is showing up, but I tried attaching the parts schematic for the avenger. If it fails to load, I'm happy to email it directly. Just PM me.

Yeah, even the tech from air venturi said they are short. Another convenience. The nitro piston break barrels are looking better by the minute. This is my first, and probably my last PCP. I may be just "lucky" but I don't want to rely on something that is apparently too delicate to last. I haven't shot it enough to enjoy it, and I take it as a sign that this occurred so conveniently after warranty and no parts readily available.

Via email, Captain O-ring says they are coming out with an Avenger kit by the end of this month or September. They are having molds made, specifically for the 2.5 x 2.5mm o-ring.

That is great news! I have rebuilt my marauders a couple times with his kits. I used to have to rebuild my hand pump about once a year, thank God I got rid of that.

BTW, look for the Teflon tape that is in the yellow container. That is made for gases and is thicker than that made for water.

Here's the gun I was telling you about. (Can't attach them to PM so posted here)

It's 30" OAL. With the .30cal barrel it will shoot 80FPE. I've got it tuned to 31fpe in .22 right now.

That is beautiful....I've been reviewing and researching the line of those.

Very impressive. I've been hitting captain o-ring every other day in hopes they have the avenger kit out....in the mean time, I've been shooting stoeger x20s....it just isn't the same....but shooting is shooting. Been eyeballing the gas/piston offerings in .22 Something simple, RELIABLE, and accurate. But the accuracy is tied to the recoil too. So, I figure I'd be getting somewhat the same accuracy as my Stoeger, with a tad more power. Having never shot a gas piston, I don't have a reference. I'm just assuming it is similar. I think I'm just wary of buying multiple rifles, that will not give me what I want, then end up wanting to get rid of them later. Hopefully, swapping and replaceing the orings in the avenger will remedy the reliability aspect. I understand that tools and machines require maintenance, but the less than a year run time on the avenger really sticks in my craw, especially with the limited number of shots I've put through it.

Message from Capt. O-ring concerning the o-ring kits for the avenger....

    Chip,

I believe*we are just waiting on one more*o-ring size (the mold was delayed for one size).* They should have been ready this week, but I believe it will be ready next week now.* Then we just need to complete the documentation, diagrams, etc for the kits and they'll be available.

    Thanks,

    Chip,

We have all the parts in stock as of the end of last week.* Now we just need to get the documentation together for the kit and get the first batch of them assembled.* Sorry it's taken a bit longer than originally anticipated.* We're running a bit shorthanded and have been swamped lately, but I'll make sure this gets done in the next couple of days so that the kit is released by the middle or end of this week!

    Thanks,
