    Hello,
Bought a Russian capture P38 a few years back. Have never fired it, want to change that. Modern 115g announced work?
    Thanks

Remington ammo does NOT feed reliably in my p-1. I looked up the problem online and apparently it is a common problem with these pistols. The ammo I had came in a huge yellow box.

I’m not sure if this was an issue with the p-38 as well

I shoot mild reloads in mine, never shoot +P ammo in it.
There is always a chance of the slide cracking with modern ammo.

Mine feeds Winchester White Box 115 grain FMJ flawlessly. I don't recall ever having a failure.

It will not go three rounds of Remington without a jam. Often it will not even feed the first round. It is pathetic.

    The difference is really amazing.

Use only standard pressure 115 grain ammo in these pistols.

The OAL of the Remington is different (I can't remember which way) and that causes feed problems.
Winchester White Box is the typical go-to (aside from the batch that got recalled I guess).
MagTech / Blazer 115gr FMJ should be fine as well.

If you want to make it a lot more robust, install a late post-war "fat" slide and forged block.
It can be challenging (but fun) to track down all the parts though.

In the meantime it's not a bad idea to install fresh recoil and hammer springs from Wolff - use the standard (Type I) service pak, not the heavy-duty.
