So, apparently there is a run on Muzzies. Who knew? :mad54: I haven't been able to find any locally(MD or PA).

I'm going on a Colorado MZ Elk hunt, this September. I've been looking for a replacement for my old TC Omega. It has to have iron(or Fiber Optic) sights due to Colorado regulations. It will be mounted with a scope when I get back from CO. I'm really interested in a CVA Accura. If anyone knows where one can be found, please let me know. Also, if anyone has good or bad reviews of this rifle, let me know.

    TIA

Thanks Buff7mm! I just ordered from Simmons. :party29: That site never came up in any of my searches. I will have to bookmark it.

I’ve ordered several things from them, they’ve always shipped my stuff fast and have decent prices most of the time.

I have two modern ML guns. Like both a lot. Both are older.

The early 00’s 700. Good gun, heavy, pita clean but very accurate.

CVA optima 2. Also good, accurate, a little heavy. But not too bad. A little easier to clean than the 700.

One thing though, cva discontinued support, parts and new barrels, are hard to find. So if you’re considering a modular barrel thing your purchase, check the life cycle of the model/manu in question. Thompson or something like that may be better about longer term availability. (From optima to accura, the breach format and break action lug positions changed.)

Also, stick with 50. Imho. My 700 is 54, and the sabots are a little harder to find. Most places have a fair stock of 50.

If something does not work out, Call Gun Shack in Mt Airy or PM Brian at South Carrol Sporting Goods.

I "swear" i saw an inline there last time I was there at Gun Shack with a front sight but a scope mounted. I may be wrong.

Get a muzzle loading barrel for either a Thompson Center Contender or Encore. Use it for Black Powder season then change barrels for rifle, shotgun or handgun hunting.
