Popped my cherry yesterday at 2A.
Mailing paperwork today, so the countdown begins. Hopefully my MCX and VP9 will play nicely with it. I'm sure they will from what I've seen.

Blaster, you have a nice can.

    (OOC in 3...2...1...)

Actually, I have shot both the 9 and 45 obsidian and really like both. Good choice. BTW, it never ends with just one.

Thanks. 600 bucks, so not cheap but not expensive. Being able to make it a shorter length, you get "2" cans for 1.

I'm pretty sure this is my only one.

I bought the same can last year and finally picked it up at Engage about 3 weeks ago. Paperwork took about 8 months to clear. But what with work and guests, I have not had a chance to take it out to the range to shoot. Hopefully later this month.

I bought the same a couple months ago. I figure I'll be getting it sometime in January. Don't forget to get a solid spacer if you plan to shoot it on fixed barrels (like rifles).

    So here's my thing.

For my MCX, I will need that spacer thingy and for this barrel, some adapter because the end tapers or something. I forgot what one of those youtube guys said.

And for my VP9 pistol, whatever thingy for that barrel. Oh, and a barrel for it.

$600 can going to cost me 700 more. WTF

When you bought the can, it should have had a booster mount with it. This is what comes with it from their website. A booster is also called a piston.

    1/2×28 piston
    9mm Front Cap
    Obsidian 9 Suppressor
    ADAPT Module
    Operator’s Manual
    Obsidian Logo Sticker

As bought, you can use it on a pistol with a barrel that moves in recoil.

This is what you need for shooting your MCX.

https://ruggedsuppressors.com/product/fixed-barrel-spacer/ It is $40 from Rugged or SS.

I plan to make one out of a 3/4 to 5/8 copper reducer coupling as a guy on the web did. You can get one from Amazon or Ebay for about $3 and change plus a few bucks for shipping. To use it, you remove the spring from the booster mount and insert the spacer. Tada!

I would get the screw mount for rifles.
Getting into suppressors is like buying to a lens system for cameras. It’s the mounts that matter. Rugged has a good selection of different mount you can choose from.
Also, don’t for get to put a dollop of silver anti seize in the threads of the can anywhere the can comes apart or attaches to a different mount. Like where the piston screws into. They can get stuck on easily. You don’t need a whole lot. I use it on all the cans I shoot.

Why would you get the screw on end cap vs using the spacer?

My MCX needs an adapter because the barrel thread is metric left hand threaded when you take the flash hider off. And it's tapered.

I think he's saying instead of a QD mount.

    Bingo

My MCX needs an adapter because the barrel thread is metric left hand threaded when you take the flash hider off. And it's tapered.

That is not unusual. I can pretty much guaranty there is cap available somewhere. Find out the pitch and email Rugged to see if they have a screw on mount available. It might not be made by Rugged, but they should be able to help out.
Some other mounts such as Gemtech/SiCo, etc MAY fit your Rugged.
