Hi all. Thinking of putting together a budget AR pistol and had some questions for more experienced members. This would be my first AR so I just wanted to make sure I get everything right

    Upper:

    Lower:

    BCG:

Am I correct in assuming I can just stick all these parts together along with a ch and have a fully functional AR pistol that’s legal in MD as long as I don’t put a forward grip on it? Main purposes would be for home defense and as a range toy. Thanks!

It may work and then again it may not. Do some searches on PSA's stuff and you will find that it doesn't always meet specifications.

Thanks for your response. I’ll certainly look into PSA and their quality control more. But in the most general sense, if all the parts are functional, I’m not missing anything the gun needs to go bang with the above list?

All the parts might fit but PSA will NOT ship a complete lower to Maryland. I ordered one 2-3 months ago and initially the order went through fine, I picked which FFL PSA needed to ship the lower to and paid for it online without a problem. However, a week later I got an email advising that the order had been canceled and letting me know that I should’ve read their “Legal Section” where it clearly stated that they do not ship complete lowers to Maryland:

“Complete AR and AK receivers will NOT be shipped to the following states:

    California
    Colorado (Boulder,Denver, Vail)
    Connecticut
    Maryland
    New Jersey
    New York”

It's a $450 rifle, probably 50-50 if it will run without changing/fixing/tweaking something. Could run OK out of the box, or could go through a couple hundred in ammo trying to get it running, before you need to swap out a couple hundred more in parts. Definitely would avoid it if you haven't built before, probably would get a complete rifle if it was my 1st AR.

I did read a bit about that but also saw some people ordered from PSA through an FFL instead of placing the order themselves and got their complete lowers without issue. Will do some more digging, thanks

Funny. BCG says Nitride, but the finish looks more like phosphate.

It will be a budget 'build' to say the least. PSA can be a bit of a crap shoot. It's your money. If that's what you can afford, go for it.
